In short, it's not possible and has no point anyway.

That's rude. I should report that.

Go and watch this Vista!

i have supported vista in the past, but after months of using it, i find myself going back to XP on a regular basis... i have a decent PC, quad core, 3 gig RAM etc etc, but Vista is just choking it... 4 mins to boot up?! and that's a clean install allowed to settle for a few days... whereas i just put XP on my lappy (which is about a quarter of my PC's spec) and it flies... 20 sec bootups... same lappy can't handle Vista cos it crashes the graphics adaptor (i think because Ati's drivers are suss, but that's another story)... to cut a long story short, until i leave uni, i'll be running XP (post uni, i'm going linux full time)

If you want a REAL fail, how about MAC distributing iPods with a Windows Virus on them, because it turns out the iPod production facilities all use Windows!

You, or some of the software you use, suck. Vista's fine. It was fine before SP1 and it's been great since. Even Creative drivers work now. When that happens, an OS is certified stable.

Vista's worth it just for SuperFetch. Unless you've got some pathetic driver or software (Norton, NVIDIA or Creative again) then it boots faster than XP on the same system.

I'm not a Vista fanboy - it's not worth an upgrade in itself - but if you're getting a new PC or motherboard then you'd have to be a @#$%& idiot to buy anything else unless you've got a piece of specialist legacy software... you'll also find it difficult soon, so you might as well just accept it just works now, get those patches downloaded and deal with it.
