The contract for building Oasis of the Seas and it's coming sister ship Allure of the Seas (Which were just called 'The Genesis Class' back then) was signed in late winter 2006, and the designing of the ship began immediately. Also the welding of the segments of the ship begun. The keel for Oasis was laid on December 2007, and the ship was floated out November 2008, and finally the build was finished in November 2009. Allure of the Seas will be ready next year at about the same time.
