Gosh guys, honestly, some things you can keep to yourself and not post here. Iain is just happy he bought that, so what? I don't think he's showing off, it never occurred in my head the feeling of jealousy or anything related to him being able to buy that TV. Seriously, it's even more annoying than you all complaining about spam and other posters.

FFS, if you don't like his new toy, don't post. He's happy with his purchase, good for him, he likes it. My flatmate recently bought a leather jacket for $600 (about 200 quid i guess), and while I thought he could have bought a better/nicer one, I was stoked for him. He loves it. There are examples of this with my mates all the freakin time!

What a bunch of sad, cynical jerk-off arseholes.

@ mad_otter, good @#$%& mate. While I didn't see your telly, I know how it feels to fork out a load of money for something you really want. :-) cool.

Ive been watching some F1 and Nascar dvd/videos and it is amazing :)

@Jon/Gav - basically, please take your sad little lives and dont post at me again. If you have nothing better to do than pick on these forums (and i think youve lost a lot of respect from a lot of people here) then you two really need to get a hobby :)

Something id like to quote here :)

I like that, seems someone else shares my opinion. I have nothing more to say on this matter and like i said above. DONT POST AT ME ANYMORE!! :) Thank you.

For Chet :)

Thanks
Iain

1. Yes, I can actually imagine that NASCAR, or any motorsport actually, would look rather stunning in that size.

2. I don't visit these forums for brownie points. I'm not after gold stars. Couldn't give a stuff about respect. I know more people have gleamed useful information from me in the countless hardware threads, than have been annoyed by this sort of post. You're one of them, so I'll ignore your rant again, and accept your thanks for helping you pick your hardware, if you don't mind.

3. You're not a mod. When I'm told to STFU by someone who matters, then I'll STFU.

4. Make the thread useful. Give us some details. Tell us about the screen. Make sure there's an actual point to the use of this nice shiny free bandwidth you're given.

ok, let me tell you again...

The screen is 42"
The Quality is amazing
The resoultion is normal (check other 42" plasmas)
The Film Filter makes the quality very sharp and impressive
It has HDMI for future digital broadcasting
It has 5x AV, RBG, Component, HDMI, DVI and S Video2

and theres a big picture just above your post.

Enjoy
Iain

PS - If theres anything else you'd like to know, please feel free to ask.

BTW I take back the insults...you were acting like arseholes. I don't know you guys personally so I shouldn't insult you. I just had a long day at work...sorry. Still, I'd like one of them tellies. :-)

I was thinking along the lines of display angles, lighting, any issues, do you get cables all the necessary cables with it, does it come with wall-mounting brackets, and if so can it be mounted on only brick walls, what's the manual like, what inputs do you get, does the remote have batteries supplied. The things that aren't on the spec sheets. The things that matter.

Make the post useful. I know a 10000:1 contrast ratio sounds good, but is it well executed. What's the response time. What's the blacks like.

I can read a spec sheet and know what this means and that means, but it doesn't tell me how good something is, or how well those things are implemented.

display angles are brilliant, can see it perfectly from any angle, no lighting issues that ive found, all cables provided, no wall bracket included, cost me £100 for one. mines mounted on brick, i dont know about other walls. manual explains all menus/options very well, easy to read and yes the batteries come with the remote, again, all in all a bloody impressive TV.

I just came home to find this thread turned ugly. How this could happen (and why) is simply beyond me. I must say that I am very disappointed and have do not have any understanding for such a behaviour.

you've let the forum down, you've let Vader down, and most importantly, you've let yourselves down.

go and sit in the corner and think about it.

and don't do a Homer:

Bart: why are you at home?
Homer: i did something bad at work, so Lenny sent me home to think about it, but i forgot what it was i did, so i'm watching tv.

RIP Jules, never to be forgotten. #KeepFightingMichael
