Well, in History, we did Stalinist Russia (up to 1939 or 41 or something), Weimar Germany (from 1919-1929) and USA 1919-1935 or again, around that end date!) at A/S, and at A2 we did the Crusades (up to and including the '4th' Crusade), Europe at War 1939-45, and the Cromwellian Protectorate 1653-58.

We did the Weimar aswell, as that was included in the Nazis rise to power. For A2 we're doing a hundred years of British History (!880 - 1980) and i think it was Nazi Germany's Foreign Policy.

100 years of British History sounds fantastic! :)

Due to the voting system in Germany, Governments are always made up of coalitions of different parties. At the last election, an almost unprecidented result saw the CDU/CSU (rough equivilant of the Conservatives) go into Government with the SPD (rough equivilant of Labour)

WTF???

1880 to 1980?

The formation of the Labour Party
WW1, Asquith and Lloyd George
The Abdication Crisis of 1936
WW2, Chamberlain and Churchill
Atlee, Labour and the Welfare State
Cold War
The Suez Crisis
Macmillan and the Profumo Scandal
de Gaulle and EEC membership talks
Joining the EEC in 1973
The Miners Strikes and Heath

Pure historical gold!

Depends what the focus is on - I immediately thought of a social course, which would be totally boring. If it's on more political aspects, then it'd be more interesting.

Still prefer the Crusades though. Hardly anyone knows much about them, but it really is an immense topic.

I would have done history a-level but it was all on the war, as was gcse history, had it been about something further back then it would have been more interesting
