wow looks like that MS Ferrari 248 with his career plaque is already available - [cgi.ebay.ca]

that was a quick turnaround! pretty pricey ofcourse since its signed, but a nice looking display nevertheless.

that's not the career one we saw on the last page, it's another presentation model that has a plaque with his signature on it, with 7 stars on the plaque:

the career one has all his results on it, which this one clearly doesn't:

and the career model has the plaque on the left with the car pointing left also.

i saw this one Karan showed on GPL and in their catalogue, they said they had 70 left or something, as he only signed around 200. but i'm pretty sure it was the 2004 car, when he won the '04 title, so i think these guys have changed the car to a 2006 car and issued a new certificate that has the pic of the '06 car instead of the '04 car, unless it's a whole new presentation.

and here's a cheap-ass attempt at making the career-base with a Brazil-spec car:

[cgi.ebay.co.uk]

they've added those little aero device on the front of the sidepods but the base really looks cheaply done.

and here's the Imola 66:66 model, looks quite good:

yeah on 2nd thought that plaque does look like the 2004 championship presentation one and they just stuck a regular 248 on there it looks like. bit of a rip off but meh what can you do.

Imola one looks pretty decent, especially the base. does it come with a plastic lid?

yeah i was wondering about that too. no idea why theyre still using the old NT livery rather than the new hash-marks one. I mean its still NT so they shouldnt be violating any tobacco regulations?

because Mattel are stupid.

if they did the proper NT, then it would save the trouble to those who want the stripey NT livery.

but then again, keeping it NT with just the white paint, helps those who want to convert it to Marlboro, as with the stripey NT, you'd have to remove a lot more stuff than just the white paint on the engine cover.

speaking of which, this arrived yesterday:

and without the flash, just the light on in my room:

I've been after an Alonso R23 for a while, but couldn't find any, and if I did find any, they were crazily priced. only the Trulli ones were cheap and easier to find.

and I like the way they have left it totally plain, so you can add the Mild Seven decals without having to remove anything.

I have the '02 Button Renault, but that has Blue World logos all over it, and of course the latest ones have Team Spirit on them.

wow, looks good, never seen a Renault diorama before. I've seen the McLaren, Minardi, Williams and Toyota ones though. they always go for very high prices, around £130 is the standard price for the Mika McLaren one.

and at least they've made the effort to make the background card look like the inside of the garage.

Does anyone know where you can get Champ car models? Ive seen that Toronto Motorsports stock them, but is there anywhere in the UK that stock them?

Maybe Minardi's diorama should have been the pitcrew pushing the car back into the pit garage with a retirement ;)
