A £50 amazon.co.uk voucher! That was about it, apart from the usual socks, Murray Walker autobiography, and £20. I am un-rich!

3 bottles of jack daniels :-)

So you had a Merry Christmas then? :)

A £50 amazon.co.uk voucher!

What is the point in vouchers? Me and my mates have been pondering this for ages now. Why not just give somebody the money so they can spend it where they like, and not have to pay a particular shops huge price tags?

Vouchers are the most awesome gift you can give anyone. It shows that you know enough about the person to know what they'd like. And then this person is delighted because it's like walking into a shop where you are guaranteed something! I love them!

I'd like to see you walking into one of these "amazon.co.uk" shops. Or are you going to send them a picture of you looking "delighted" via email?

btw, you are right Zcott. In most cases a voucher is the perfect gift. Way better than getting stuff you neither wanted not needed. Remember the Chevy Chase's National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation where the debile grandma wraps up the cat as a present?

Yes, a simple pet shop voucher would have been so much more practical.

A voucher is indeed a good gift so they can get something they really want, but what im saying is if somebody gave you £20 of HMV vouchers you could buy 1 CD, and get £5 off a second. If they gave money you could buy 2 CD's from www.play.com with the money.
