15th... better than 22nd which is where I was for the first runs, just couldn't get the setup right. I hope the team can do better in qualifying and the race :-).

Oh @#$%&...I know the reason for this. At my check-file, you are correctly in already, but Stu missed to delete a link to Somogyi's race perf, which is why he is in instead of you. Of course I should have recognized this at the perf check....but with all the (re-)changes of drivers, I missed it too. I'll have to talk to him.

/edit: Results fix, as it turned out that neither Stu nor me missed something.

GPGSLRS decision on Juliano Muller.

Juliano Muller (jucksman) has requested an abscence from the series of 18th March - 21st July (4months). The GPGSL management team has ruled that he is to lose his seat as such an extended break is considered unacceptable by the current rules on activity.
Scala Grand Prix are free to advertise the vacancy and or use a race driver for the duration. This decision by the GPGSL is non-negotiable. We understand and accept the fact that this decision causes the loss of a test driver for Scala GP and may effect their overall series strategy, however we also must enforce the rules. Be assured, the management of the GPGSL regrets having to make such tough decisions.
Our decision does not influence the GPGSL managements' respect for the participation of Scala GP, its owner and its drivers in the series.

Regards, the GPGSL management.

Very pleased with 3rd. Hopefully we'll be good in qualifying and race trim, if we're strategic with calls in relation to weather.

Definitely better than last GP, but I'm not really happy as I'm again behind Dan.

A four month break! Seriously?! He couldn't stay active for three races when he had a race seat at Christel, but a four month seriously takes the absolute P$*s. Its good to see that the GPGSL board have taken swift action. Hopefully Scala can find a committed driver now.

uhoh, seems we are struggling here

used to be GPGSL's Nick Heidfeld
Regarding the GPGSL ruling on Juliano's four month absence from the series; if we did nothing, and Juliano failed repeated activity checks, the GPGSL would have removed him from the series with penalties applied.
Our removal of Juliano now allows him to return to the series without penalty at the end of his four month absence. This was, for the GPGSL, the best possible option under the circumstances.
The activity rules have been a point of contention since their inception, however given that in their current form, the rules were voted in by the majority, the GPGSL has little choice other than to to interpret and act on them in the best possible manner.
I'll take this opportunity to remind all participants that we are now in our seventh season of what is perceived to be a very successful series, if we did not have a good set of rules, managed by those that are ultimately prepared to make the tough decisions on the behalf of all participants, this series would have failed a long time ago.
Unfortunately the GPGSL is often placed in what it sees as an untenable position regarding some of the decisions it is forced to make. However that is our job, whether we actually like having to do it when the interpretation of the rules brings us to such a choice is another matter entirely.

Qualy has been run and we have a pole sitter! Shock! Horror! Very, very busy at the end of the session when the track seemed to get wetter but actually got faster lol

Hopefully I will get the screenshots uploaded and posted tonight :)

Here here! I think this was the right decision.

Good to see. You can't really let someone be inactive for a huge amount of time, or otherwise we'd all be doing it. Completely fair.

Regarding the GPGSL resolution, totally agree. I mean, I'm an active defender of the "It Only Takes a Minute To Post" philosophy, and being unactive four months is unfair for the rest of us. However, penalising him is unfair for him, given that he warned us about his abscense. So I think it's the best choice.

As for the FP, big congrats for Andrei. Jake did an awesome job again, pushing the car to the limit. Mr Stefan struggled but nevertheless he was competitive, so this gives me good feelings for the race. Let's see if I finally manage to score again.

Happy with 2nd. hopeful the start of an upward turn.
GPGSL Belgian Grand Prix - Spa-Francorchamps

Qualifying

You join us again here at Spa-Francorchamps for the qualifying session for the Belgian Bun Grand Prix.
The rain, I'm afraid is tipping down and all the teams have bolted on the super wets.

Vilela is first ou and for some strange reason the spray from his tyres are going forwards! WTF!

Vilela naturally is first to set a lap time.

Pedersen is 2nd over the line but is 3rd!

Ah! Thats why! Aleksander appears from the glum in 1st.

Warrington smashes Slovenian's time.

Greidanus takes pole by a tenth.

That doesn't last long as Cartwright goes quicker still.

Sheppard takes 4th.

Somogyi is barely visible with this strange spray as he takes 5th.

MAC will be impressed with 4th place by Hunsley.

Jalving puts his MPR into 5th position.

But his team mate Maverick nicks the pole by 6 hundreths.

The cars make their way to the pits after their first runs.

Now thats better! We have normal spray again as Aleksander is ahead after the first sector.

Marko has slipped down to 0.350 behind in the 2nd sector.

+0.395 by the finish is enough to put him in 5th

Pedersen beats Aleksander's time to steal 5th.

Jalving makes it a MPR 1-2.

2nd runs complete and we are nearly half way through the session.

Aleksander again beats the pole sitters first sector.

Exactly even after the second.

Oh so close, but it's still only 5th for Aleksander.

Greenhalgh moves up to 4th.

15 minutes to go.

Greenhalgh takes pole position for Aston Martin.

Maverick jumps one place to 2nd.

But his team mate pips him again.

Four runs done and still no-one has beaten 2 minutes.

Pedersen looks faster at the first sector.

0.414 at the second! This is looking good for the Dane!

Yep thats the pole for Pedersen.

But hold on, Greidanus is now top.

Cartwright takes 3rd but he's over half a second down.

Warrington almost obscured by the spray takes 2nd.

Vilela just scrapes pole.

Snake's flying Dutchman takes 3rd.

That is so close but Kittleson takes 1st.

Silvestre up to 5th, the track looks like it's getting faster.

Horváth 3rd.

Looks like who ever crosses the line last will take pole as Rodríguez sets the fastest time.

Maverick only makes it to 6th.

Greenhalgh goes 3rd.

Jalving with a massive chunk out of the pole time.

Sorry to Dean Kittleson the GPGSL cameras missed his 3rd place.

Stay tuned for the official results.
