GPGSL S7 [SEASON COMPLETED!!!] Rule Changes Announced For S8.

Posted by GPGSL
Rodrigo got a nice finish, but without his little off road excurtion we might have gotten us a podium... I really don't know what happened at the first stop, that really can't happen again :(

Maverick statement after the race

Short and simple: The tires didn't work at all. Only the last set finally worked appropriately and allowed me to recover to 10th at least. Other than that I'm more than pissed!

OOC:
Okay, I see this is Zandvoort and stuff. But honestly, I've never seen somebody with such a lack of speed after a decent qualy. Going back from 4th to 13th (for a while) without making a mistake and with mistakes from other drivers in front of me (otherwise it would have been even further backwards) is a novelty for me to have seen. I presuppose that the race wasn't run from the qualifying savegame due to the trouble Conner mentioned but that the grid order was remodeled and then the race was run? If that was so, it'd explain the sudden lack of speed, but yet I'm obviously not thrilled. In either way I won't complain officially, but for obvious reasons I'm pissed :-)

Not a bad result, bu could've been better...let's hope my team principal will give me another shot at a race seat this season..
John Warrington Statement

"I'm not happy at all. I was doing really well and have worked my way up to 4th so for it to get ruined by my own team's poor decision making is a bitter pill to swallow. Today's race has really got my racing enjoyment back up so I perhaps may not retire fully from the sport. Onwards and upwards and hopefully the team doesn't make such a bad cock up again."

Rod did well to pick up 4th. Clearly, somehow my bad luck has rubbed off onto Carlos and he was hamstrung with that pit incident.

Interestingly, this race was run from the qualifying savegame. Whilst i did change the magic data to reduce ai errors between qualifying and race and this may have affected it, i don't think so. I ran this race 3 times fully, each time some people were astonishingly quick, others incredibly slow. Ie the first time, Pederson held the lead for a large chunk of time despite starting 18th, and the two other times, Sheppard won and cars did have their stints of moving backwards/forwards massively. But still this was run from the quali save, but my apologies if something i did has affected peoples races :(

Connor, could you pass me qualifying savegame? I like to watch the race myself.

Thanks

Hmm, that surprises me, as usually AI races tend to end the same way when started from a qualifying savegame. So the change of the AI errors must have had some influence, I guess. Either way, as I said it's the way it is and it's only a game. But with all this continuing trouble with Zandvoort, I officially request not to allow it on the calender anymore for next season unless there's a fully bug-free version. I know that my Dutch colleagues will not be with me in this, but honestly, this way there's little sense in using the track. Also JW's pit stop was totally unnecessary and spoiled his race, too.

I like that version more to be honest ;)

Very poor race from my perspective. Not at all impressed with that.

This be fair this struck me as weird too. I ran the start of the race twice before running the full event, one time Somogyi has exactly the same problem as he did in the actual race, but the other time he gets spun around in the same incident. I thought this was a bit strange as normally the races are exactly the same, but in this case small things seemed to deviate (this was without changing a single thing before each start). Zandvoort is an interesting track, probably not the easiest one to RD however ;)

@Chris, yeh i was quite impressed when it happened, unfortunately the small changes i had to make to fix the race seemed to ruin Michael chances.

I must say i agree there! =)

But wow, what a shitty race :( Good to see Jack up there though! =)
First, a big congratulations for Rodrigo, that was a really needed result for the championship. As for me, well, just wondering if anyone can recommend a good race engineer, because mine dissapeared mysteriously ;-)

If I can manage to put the same speed I have in qualy in the race, I'm confident I can do great things. The car is great right now, and Rodrigo showed it.

And Jake, don't worry, I am a quite unlucky guy by default hehe.

Stats: 139 Starts / 7 Wins / 9 Poles / 5 Fastest laps
What thrilling race coverage - well done!

Ruben looked to be having a good race in the first half, looking strong for a podium before the rain came. It seems we did not get the strategy right for him however and I think it was this that caused him to drop down the top ten. A solid points finish however that should not be snubbed at.

Marko seemed to have the opposite race. Getting knocked out and into last at the start! He had an heroic drive to get back into the top ten. Very proud of him but he does need to improve his qualifying pace soi that he isn't forced into these positions.

Can't say I'm pleased with the final result after what was a great qualifying session for the team

Still points are points, and we grabbed a good load once again

My GPGSL Career
so after a very good last race, my home race really sucked. im ashamed with such a result for the netherlands fan

I knew there was going to be one or two disgruntled people after this race, but believe me, if Connor hadn't re-run the race there would have been many more. I advised him to re-start the race because of the amount of retirements and many more double pitting. Excellent job Connor!

GP4 has many little bugs. I know generally once a race is saved, it will play out the same every time, but sometimes it doesn't. I have even rewound a race to watch an exceptionally violent crash only for the replay to show something completely different and the driver who retired get away with just a broken wing!

John what can I say? There was a glitch in the radio system, Ed's call to pit that lap was received by you as well. We realised the problem by the time you were in the pits, but it was too late. But well done in your fight back and the fastest lap. Great race by Ed in difficult conditions, you beat your main rivals and thats the main thing. We just couldn't stop Glen and Tommi today.
