I do note that the Bathurst available here in original thread has a .ini that names it Bathurst
While the download from your site names it Mount Panorama

Also I think the original is 2mb smaller but could just be loading screen & lo_res Wad?

But of course I would guess your using the one from your site yes? So it does not
explain the two names used for track ( Bathurst in your replay/case ) in HofxLap....odd

Is everyone using GPxTrack to load the track? Or has anyone renamed the .dat to s1ct##.dat?

I am using GPxTrack v4.24a to load as always & also the .Dat has not been
renamed since downloading from your site it is named bathurst.dat

I too have been using GPxTrack, as always.

No renaming of the .dat, and I use the low-res .wad

I haven't tried looking at the replays yet, but will later.

Also, Tom, no big deal, but the link from the leaderboard to the forums doesn't work for me.

@Supermonty: My hat goes off to you mate, being able to drive with that setup!

I've given it a couple of goes, but always mess up the middle sector with oversteer!

Full respect to you and the other keyboarders! (Y)

Yeah i tried monty's setup i always lose control at the second flat out kink/corner at the top of the hill.

Setups are funny & I basically can never use other folks setups as they never work for me either

But also you need to look at things like steering help %, steer max lock & rwcs %
even FPS game is run at makes a difference I think in braking reaction times.

I just submitted one in T-cam mode & as I said earlier in thread near a second faster than my cockpit view lap
Will go back to cockpit now as I have found it more fun but I do see a difference in T-cam views
especially for corners set-up

Ah that's better; managed to throw a couple of laps together with Monty's setup.

I also checked the replay's and I'm happy to say that I've got no problem.

@Flying:

Though I didn't try it with my most recent runs, with my earlier ones I alternated between T-cam and cockpit, and they averaged out about the same.
(I didn't keep the numbers, but it was something like the cockpit being faster by 0.025 or some such.)
The middle sector was killing me in cockpit view - something to do with the constant elevation dives I imagine - but I was a good two-tenths faster in both the first and last sectors.

As you said earlier, I think it all comes down to personal preference as to whether one is 'faster' than the other.

Takes me many hours & many notes to come up with a setup that works for me
If I dont take notes & write affect etc of change I go round in circles

On replays your able to view all with no glitches?
That is odd...I wonder why some of us are seeing a difference even in hofxlap naming tracks differently
strange that

Yes on views for sure personal prefs
My main reason for using T-cam was it was brighter & easier for my eyes
But...Since Suzuka I have found a wonderful feature on my new Samsung 22" I did not know about called game mode
Makes everything brighter ;-)

For me T-cam is faster & I guess I can always go back but do like this view

Yep, they were all fine.

I noticed with the last round that some people's were named differently as well.

Mine was 'Fuji Television Japanese Grand Prix' or something like that, yet some others - at least some of those that I looked at - were just called.......something else........may have just been Suzuka.

I'll have a look now.

EDIT: Just had a quick look at four of the Suzuka replays - Mine, yours (Flying), Tom's and Monty's.

Mine and Monty's were called 'Fuji Television Japanese GP' , while those from Flying and Tom were called 'Suzuka'.

But, as nobody - that I saw anyway - had an issue then caused by names, I don't think it matters any.
(That's all just in the .ini anyway isn't it?)

Interesting & true about just a name but I think
we started looking at it because it was consistent
for folks like Javi & myself that we could not see those replays with the different name than what we ran
So thought it may be a link

well guys, I have done several test yesterday and today, and I guess that I've found the issue. In circuits folder I put only wad and dat file and I have a problem with flying, doug and vimal laps, now I put all files in circuits folder, bathurst.ini included, and I have no problem anymore with flying, doug and vimal laps, but I have it with mine, monty and tom (at 30 seconds like flying said) laps. So i deleted bathurst.ini and here we go, no problem with mine and others, but I've problem with flying and others, so i put again the ini file and again no problem with flying and others, but I've problem with mine and others. Has anyone understood what i said? :-) I don't use google translate
Tom can you confirm my theory? Anyway everyone can do this test, try to put and delete the ini file and see the difference

Thanks Stefano

I find if I remove or rename the bathurst.ini I can see all replays
including mine etc.

The only odd thing left is Monty's still starts in movie mode but does complete the whole lap

But you say for yours some work with ini removed & others that worked before now do not?

Thanks

sorry, I don't understand very well the last question, but I can say this:

without ini (laps downloaded saturday):
supermonty - no problem
me - no problem
tom - no problem
flying - problem
doug - problem
vimal - problem

with ini (always the same laps):
supermonty - problem
me - problem
tom - problem
flying - no problem
doug - no problem
vimal - no problem

In my case if I remove ini file all are ok now
Except for Monty starts in video mode instead of T-cam or cockpit view

Strange

for monty's lap I don't think it's a problem, it should be the moment that he saved the lap

Yes it is not a problem just never saw one start that way with the car coming at you from a distance
down the track

Actually Dougs is odd too as it always starts in the garage which is something
I had not seen before too ;-)

Track just has some gremlins I guess :-)

Whoah, my bad; When checking them last night, somehow or other I missed Monty's!

Can confirm same problem as Flying.

I think that's down to where I save my lap.

On my outlap, I'm setting the reset point just after/a bit before the kink (Turn 20) on the straight.

When I set a lap that I want to save, I'll jump back to the garage and save it before jumping back to my reset point.

His new lap he submitted starts right for me but crashes in first uphill turn
Then goes in reverse ;-)

Also in Hofxlap his shows Bathurst & mine still Mount Panorama even with mine now not having a .ini file

Edit......Tom I just thought of one thing that has a tie to the corrupted laps
those drivers ...except Javi?.....they were all drivers with penalties from previous results ?
Could it have anything to do with it?
