GP2 Manager - 2005: Silverstone Free Practice & Qualification Results PG36 - Searching for a new manager!

Yup Chris. That's actually the way it is. That's the risk that you take when you sign a good driver. In such a case, Reve would have to ensure, however, that this time can buy a replacement after the season.

The likelyhood of this happening is remote i feel as most of the "good" drivers will be signed up to F1 teams i feel.

But if it were to happen then i'm assuming the team would get there money back in order to find a replacement?

Exactly :)

By the way, sorry for not beeing on at the weekend, I went on a christmas shopping trip with my friends. Good thing is, I got all presents for christmas now :)
Bad thing is, the next grand prix will have to wait until this coming weekend. Things will be back to normal as soon as the next mid season test comes (for which you can already send in your plans :) )
Negotiations for round 1 will be up as soon as possible.

2nd and last Ferrari deal signed
Independent of the delay of the French Grand Prix, Ferrari still submitted their second engine partner for next year: Fisichella Motor Sport International (currently Coloni). "The fact that Giancarlo Fisichella is going to sponsor the team next year was the reason we signed the contract over another interested team." It is said that the paid sum of 7.5m plaid a role in the negotiations as well.

Drivers available until the end of F1 round 7

Please note that offers not including the length of the contract won´t be accepted.

Does it mean that GP2 teams can also sign 3 year contracts?

Also what's the formula to decide which offer is better if there are differences in the length of the contract?
Red Bull Racing Junior

Both days teesting: Focusing on speed- Wurz and Pavlovic both days.

Yeah, you are allowed to sign 3 year contracts for a simple reason: IF your team is bidding the most, the driver will gain experience for 3 whole years. And if he wins the championship after 2 years he will surely get a contract in F1. If he does not, well then he still gained a lot of experience.

About deciding which team to join: Lets use Olivier Pla as an example: He costs 500k for 1 year, 750k for 2 and 875 for 3. If you bid 1m for 1 year, then you bid 500k more than the minimum bid for that length. If you bid 1m for 2 years, you bid 250k more then the minimum, so your first offer would be more likely to be chosen. It also plays a role in which position in the championship you stand, or if an F1 team is bidding as well, but thats the basic formular.

I hope I explained everything good... :)

Okay. One more question:

If I sign a driver for 3 years and he becomes a champion in his first (or second) year - will I be able to negotiate with other teams, or his contract will be terminated and I'll pay only for the years he drived for my team?
Question from me too (which I can't see an answer to)...
If I make a 2 year contract offer, do I pay all the cost from one years budget, or is it divided equally over the two years?

You pay equally over the two years. Half of the salary will be extracted from your budget now and the other half when contract negotiations start next season for the season after.

As a general note, this also means that you gonna have start to plan the next season now already to not come in financial trouble next season!

2 x yes :) ... If your driver becomes champion you will get the money back for the years he cannot drive for you. Additionally you can always contact other managers to buy a driver from them (as you did with Gene) and if you do so, just contact me so I can adjust the contracts and the budgets.

what I meant was will we be able to negotiate with other teams to sell the champion or the contract will be terminated. However, I understand that from your answer.

I'm interested if we're gonna use same cars for next year, so that I can start painting the 2006 livery?
Yes its the same cars, as i am painting one for next year, already had asked him.

And as far as I know the 2005 mod is the only one including a real good GP2 shape, so I guess we'll be using these cars even longer than only next season.

You could get onto Craigo about the 2006 shape he created (I think it was Craig, maybe Kizz)

Wasn't ever released, but is seriously impressive

I can't think of a better reason to see the car released, as it'd be useful for the series

Thanks, I´m gonna ask him :) Still the liveries are the more important problem I think, as teams using the same livery every season will get boring after some time...

I'm planning a little bit different livery, I believe ART and Red Bull will have different, too :)
Yes, I have started a brand new one, not even Red Bull type either!

What makes you think so? ;-)

No, seriously. For me it depends on whether ART Williams stays with Williams as a sister team or not. If yes, I just thought about changing the numbers and keep the livery next season, too, as I actually quite like it. But in two seasons, I'll change it for sure...or maybe I'll tweak it a bit next season already...uhhh...we'll see.
