GPGSL Season 6 Complete!

Oooooh, what a bad qualy....
Glen should win it, if you want to my naked body around the track, little chance to me to finish in the top 3, and divng naked to the harbour...
"I got distracted by the scenery." Was the answer of Karjalainen, when asked about his poor qualifying
I've got a question: Every time when I try to unpack the GPGSL S6 Trackpack, an error occured at Win RAR. ;-( What can I do?
Hm...on reflection, it looks like my birthday celebrations may have added some extra weight to my car - hopefully all the singing I've done today (*shameless plug* if you want to check it out, check my youtube channel in my sig */shameless plug*) will have reduced my weight enough to start a charge to the front for the race ;)

Many people seem to have had this problem, so I will have another go at creating and uploading the trackpack when I have time.

How about if you try using 7zip?

Great lap by Charrel

Hope to get some points after a couple of miserable races

Matt shunted the car in quali, but will be fixed up for the race, only some minor suspension damage

My GPGSL Career
GPGSL Round 13 Monaco GP - Race part 1

It is finally here! The event you have all been waiting for for the past 2 days (well some of you), the race of round 13, the Monaco GP! Greenhalgh took that all important pole position yesterday so will sit at the head of the grid with Jalving alongside him, whilst Sheppard and Cartwright behind them could also be well up there to contend for the win. The weather report for today says completely clear for the whole time, the cars are down on the grid, so i guess that means to the track we go!

Greenhalgh in his Aston looks poised for the battle that will be turn 1 as he waits for the lights to go on. Hinz sits right at the back and will hope to make up some places from there.

1 light...2 lights...3 lights...4 lights...5 lights... Go! Go! Go! Jalving makes a fantastic start and he's now alongside Greenhalgh into turn 1!

He's through! Jalving takes the lead in turn 1 leaving Greenhalgh now fighting to keep 2nd place as Sheppard is alongside him!

He keeps the place though as he manages to fight of the TNR car to keep 2nd. The Aston 2nd Sheppard 3rd.

We have a replay of the start onboard with Johnson, and we can see that Aleksander makes an absolutely cracking start taking advantage of everyone having to slow down on to inside to gain two places in the form of Johnson and Cartwright, as the SCR car nows sits down in 5th.

Another man to make a jump of someone is Elleker as he finds his Christel machine infront of Silvestre who started ahead.

Oops a bit of pushing at the back as a few of the backmarkers run into eachother, with no damage. Thomas, Karjalainen and Kittleson have both gained one place as its now: Vilela, Karjalainen, Horvath, Kittleson, Hunsley, Kederer, Pederson, Hinz

Into the tunnel and you just make out that Jalving has managed to pull a slight gap over Greenhalgh in the start battles.

Behind Silvestre its Worseling/Greidanus and Thomas/Vilela who has swapped places as its: Warrington, Houston, Worseling, Greidanus, Thomas, Vilela between 10th and 15th.

Worseling is the man in the final points position as he looks to try and keep the MPR of Houston in sight for more points.

Vilela is on the back of the points group and looks eager to regain the place he lost to Thomas. It will be difficult to overtake though...

The same can be said of the TNR of Horvath who probably couldnt get closer to the back of Karjalainen without being in the same car.

Infact the whole field is really bunched up, even the backmarkers, which mainly consists of drivers in new teams and MAC drivers.

Sheppard has to be careful that the gap infront to Greenhalgh doesnt sneak out too much, although he has some space back to Aleksander and Cartwright.

Whilst we finally have a glimpse of the time between 1st and 2nd. Its at 1 second and isnt going anywhere quickly.

Oops thats a lock-up by Thomas and he gives the barriers a little bump before carrying on. Not without Vilela all over him though, but the entry to rascasse is a bit too tight for 2 cars...

As we are with these two Greenhalgh manages to set the fastest lap, showing clear intent to take back the lead.

Whilst Aleksander cant seem to shake off Cartwright behind him, Sheppard has lost a little bit more time to Greenhalgh infront of him.

Whilst sitting behind these two is Johnson and Maverick in 6th and 7th. The ART driver is right behind the VSM man, ready if he makes any mistakes.

The slower Christel car of Elleker has now got a train of cars sitting behind him as once again the lack of overtaking provides a problem for some drivers.

One of those is Greidanus, who must be desperate to make his way up to the same good position of his team-mate, or even to gets points at all.

Kittleson makes a slight mistake in rascasse. Nothing major but he now is a little bit back from Horvath in front of him.

Hinz has also made a slight error somewhere as he now is faced with a little bit of gap to get back on the back of Pederson.

Oops scary moment for Warrington as he bumps into the barriers on the outside of Casino but manages to get away with it scot free. Well except the fact that Houston is suddenly a lot closer

Thomas and Vilela have managed to work a gap over Karjalainen who doesnt seem majorly quick at this present moment...

Sheppard is managing to pry that gap open further and further back to Aleksander, as the TNR and Shadow cars are now 2 seconds apart.

Whilst at the front Jalving isnt having the same luck with Greenhalgh, as the Aston car seems to be pulling the MPR in very slowly...

Houston seems to be dropping back bit by bit from Warrington in 10th place, can't seem to keep up with the pace of the Aston.

Whilst Karjalainen seems to be really rather slow at the moment, as Horvath and Kittleson are really all over the back now.

The front 3 cars are close enough to be in one shot, which can only mean they are in a reasonably close distance of eachother.

Kederer has a little lock up moment and now the back pair of Pederson and Hinz are right behind him, they will struggle to get passed though...

9 laps are done and the pit stops are just about upon us, so i guess that means we should give you some pre-stop standings:

And with that, pit stops have started! The first lap on the window see's one man in, and that's race leader Charrel Jalving.

That leaves Greenhalgh to finally take back the leader of the race, with Sheppard 2nd. Jalving meanwhile rejoins in 14th, infront of Vilela. Only just though, he nearly had an ART car in his back!

Whilst Cartwright who currently sits in 4th now has a fairly substantial advantage of the VSM of Johnson behind him.

Greidanus and Worseling are now in the pits one after eachother. That means it comes down to a simple race in the pits.

But im afraid you can not see that pit battle quite yet! We are now ready to put you onto a commercial break whilst we prepare for the 2nd part of this race. It shan't be long before we are back ready to give you more of this race, so see you soon!

Why do I get the feeling we are going to get pummeled in the pitstops...

GPGSL - Christel VXR team Boss S6-S8, S12 Onwards

better than being pummeled in the tunnel walls!

Jenson drives it like he owns it; Lewis drives it like he stole it
Up a position, good start, will I keep position after pitting though...

Good start to the race for me so far. Look forward to seeing how high up on the podium I am when I get home from work tonight....

GPGSL Round 13 Monaco GP - Race part 2

We are back! Not too much of a break for you guys, sorry if it was too long for any of you impatient ones. But we are back right in the middle of the pitstops with battles going on as we speak. As there has been no overtaking so far, these pit stops become all the more important to gain and lose places, so we won't delay any longer, to the track!

Thank you and as you join us Kittleson and Horvath have followed Greidanus and Worseling into the pits, so i guess that makes another race in the pitlane.

Out of the pitlane and Cartwright stays ahead of Greidanus, but more importantly, Shadow have won one race and Greidanus now finds himself ahead of Worseling.

Whilst for Horvath and Kittleson things stay as is with the TNR and VSM pit crews matching eachother out that time.

Next lap with cars coming out of the pits and Aleksander is behind Greidanus! The other shadow man has had a relatively poor stop, and he finds himself not only behind Cartwright but also behind team-mate Greidanus. Ouch!

Behind its looking like Karjalainen has found his way passed the ART car of Vilela. This has turned into a bit of a weekend to forget for the ART man, as well as the fact thats the 2nd car in a row he's had to be careful of as they come out the pits...

Whilst Kittleson is also struggling at the moment and finds himself with one car between him and Horvath. MAC man Hunsley splits the two.

Greenhalgh is now in for his stop, this is crucial, can he get the jump on Jalving? Sheppard also follows him in from 2nd place, but he's a bit too far back to jump Greenhalgh realistically.

It may only be a temporary joy, but Johnson gets to relish the joy of leading a lap on the Monaco streets. In all fairness he should enjoy it while he can.

Cartwright and Aleksander seem to have lost out rather a lot as a pair, as the Tafuro car of Silvestre has found his way infront of them both. How much have the pair actually lost?

A quick check on the other MPR car in this race shows that his pitstop hasnt gained or lost him anything, as he still sits infront of Worseling.

Right at the back, Hinz has managed to get the jump on Pederson, which means that the Christel man now sits in plum last after his pits.

Johnson comes out the pits... and he's infront of Maverick, but only just! Maverick has to be very careful, but he still sits behind the VSM car.

Elleker comes out the pits and has managed to retain his spot ahead of Silvestre, but at the same time, that means that he sits ahead of both Carwright and Aleksander.

Whilst Hinz has now gained a 2nd position due to pits, as Kederer now sits in the place that the MAC driver previously had. As its MAC, Tafuro and Christel at the back.

Finally back to having a quick glance at the front, and Jalving has managed to keep his car infront of Greenhalgh, good work at MPR!

Johnson is under a lot less pressure now that he has managed to worked to work a slight gap over Maverick, a little bit of breathing space.

With only Warrington at the front of the pack left to pit here is the full standings of how it has shaken down.

But wait a sec, just checking, and it seems the first pit window has shut without Warrington pitting, he must pit soon to avoid a 12.5 second penalty!

In as it stands 3rd place, Greenhalgh has found himself with a relatively big gap back to Sheppard, the TNR might struggle to peg that back...

Oh dear Elleker is going relatively slowly and cars are just streaking passed him. Yup his worst fears must be coming true. After being in such a promising position for the whole race all that smoke means that it must be an oil leak. I suggests he leaves that car as soon as possible!

Aleksander seems to be having more pressure from behind, rather than applying pressure ahead, as Houston is rather close to that Shadow...

Jalving is closing on the seemingly 1 stopping Warrington, and he will hope that he can find somewhere to get passed if he can get closer.

Scary moment for the only remaining Christel man as he clips the wall in Casino. He manages to carry on without damage, albeit a bit further away than Kederer.

Whilst Jalving is trying to close himself onto Warrington at the front, its the other Aston driver who is closer, as Greeenhalgh is right up behind him.

Karjalainen is not longer much faster than he did before he pitted for more fuel and tires, as he still has Vilela all over him, and cannot get close to Thomas ahead.

Nope nope that is not the way to take the exit to the swimming pool Mr Hinz. He's kissed the wall and bit too hard and now finds himself without a wheel. Thats retirement number 2 of the day agonizingly close to the pits.

Jalving and Greenhalgh are now right onto the back of Warrington, who by now really looks like only pitting once and taking his chances with a penalty.

Whilst Greenhalgh, now stuck up behind Jalving and Warrington, can't do anything about the closing in of Sheppard who is seeking a podium today.

Slightly further back, Johnson has managed to put potentially vital seconds between him and Maverick in 6th, and will hope he can hold it.

Warrington finally pits to release Jalving! The fact it is exactly half way through the race must confirm he is on a 1 stop race.

All of that means we are now to where we were at the start, with Jalving, Greenhalgh and Sheppard taking the top 3 spots.

Warrington coms out of the pits and finds himself sitting behind Aleksander, which puts him back down into 10th place, right where he started.

And that halfway point means we are ready to mark it with the most recent standings as they cross the line:

Jalving and Greenhalgh are now right on top of eachother, and Sheppard has reduced the gap to 2 seconds. He seems ready to join the party.

Part 2 done! I'm afraid you will have to wait in the small break for the race finale now. Yup im afraid to say this race got to the point of only being in 3 parts, which means you shan't have to wait very long before you can find the final results of this race. Anyway, we will be back soon for that final part!

i crashed on purpose. that race was so boring, i just wanted it to end ;)

used to be GPGSL's Nick Heidfeld
Karjalainen in team radio

Tommi: Could you put some music on? Black Sabbath, maybe? Ive got Vol.4 laying somewhere in the garage.
Engineer: er... I think you should concentrate on driving. How is the car feeling?
Tommi: I think those hippie greenpeace lads filled the tank with vegetable oil or something again. You can see freaking flowers growing from my exhaust pipe. Gonna take a few of them after this bloody race and give to that one hot girl standing on a balcony wearing barely nothing.
Engineer: Right... you are 14th at the moment, so push it.
Tommi: I'm gonna push that girl

GPGSL Round 13 Monaco GP - Race part 3

We are back, and this is it! Its time to give you the final part of the race! When we left you Greenhalgh was very close to Jalving, whilst Sheppard was also closing in on the pair looking to spoil the party. Well the commercials are done which means that makes us ready to go down to the track to give you more action!

We are back on track, and in the middle of the points Silvestre has managed to work a gap out toe Cartwright behind him, whilst the SCR driver has the attention Greidanus behind him.

Further back though, and Karjalainen doesn't have the same luxury, as he is still under a large amount of pressure from Vilela and Horvath behind him, the back seems quite bunched up.

Oops thats a moment for another driver, as its Kederer this time who has a little push on the barriers, but gets away perfectly fine. Pederson in last place can only close on him, nothing more.

We are into the 2nd pit window! Once again its Jalving who dives into the pits first from the lead, he needs to hope for a good stop once again.

He very nearly causes an almighty problem for both Aleksander and Warrington as he comes out just infront of them! Nothing comes to it, apart from the 3 drivers are now right on top of eachother, but in the same order.

So this means Greenhalgh gets his 3rd taste of being in the lead, with Sheppard ever closer to him all the time.

The sheer difference in speed between Jalving and Aleksander today is plain to see, as the middle sector gains him 6 tenths in one go.

Silvestre chooses this lap to pit in from 5 place, and he will hope he can maintain his relatively high placings. His Tafuro team put him out right infront of Hunsley and Kittleson. Very very close infront.

Its Greidanus' and Cartwrights time to pit, which gives the Shadow yet another straight sprint in the pit-lane.

They come out though in the same order they enter though, which means that Cartwright is still ahead of Greidanus.

Greidanus is probably a bit too close for comfort behind Kittleson as he comes out of the pits. He probably would prefer less traffic.

Sheppard comes out the pits, and he's not behind Warrington. Lucky for him Warrington will be faced with a penalty so far, which means he could grab a podium.

The leader is in, Greenhalgh makes his way into the pits from the lead, can his team do a better job. As is Johnson who pits from a current 2nd place.

Maverick has one peace of mind so far as he's come out ahead of Silvestre, which makes it seem like he can't have lost that place.

That was very close! Thomas comes out of the pitlane, and Vilela very very nearly has ran into the back of him! Nearly 2 more casualties today.

Greenhalgh comes out the pits... and he's ahead of Jalving! Great work by the Aston team, and they've done it! Greenhalgh leads!

And in the same run, Maverick has managed to get the jump on VSM driver Johnson. Thats great work by the ART pit crew too!

Worseling comes out the pits back ahead of both Thomas and Vilela, however those two behind him seem further apart than before.

The MAC team have also done a good job in the pitlane, as they have now managed to get Hunsley ahead of both Horvath and Kittleson. Good work.

Infact that now seems like more places from that stop, as Karjalainen is the man who sits infront of the Horvath Kittleson pair, meaning Hunsley has jumped the Snake too.

Less than 10 laps to go, and pit stops over and done with means we can have some standings. To sum up more pit stops action, Kederer and Pederson have both done a fantastic job in that stint, which means that both are now sitting up in 15th and 16th, jumping above Hunsley, Karjalainen, Horvath and Kittleson, great work!

Greenhalgh is not looking to rest on his laurels now he has the lead as he goes about setting the new fastest lap. As we have a nice view of Johnson's car.

Infact Greenhalgh is really turning the screw on Jalving behind him, and the Aston car is really sprinting away from the MPR!

Only 1 lap later, and he is now 1.3 seconds further ahead. Greenhalgh is at the current moment lapping about half a second faster than everyone at least!

Karjalainen has failed to show much pace all day really and now is no exception as Horvath is still right on his tail.

Pederson at the current moment is enjoying a bit of space in a much improved 16th place, as neither Kederer or Hunsley are particularly closer.

Whilst in 13th place, Thomas has completely dropped Vilela, but cannot get closer to Worseling in the quest for points.

However Houston is still not in the clear for his 11th place slot. He can't get any closer to Aleksander so far, but Worseling just won't go away.

The Shadow driver (Aleksander that is) is in a bit of no mans land. He sits 4 seconds ahead of Houston and 3 behind Greidanus. Bit of a lonely finale.

3 laps to go now, and Greenhalgh has pulled out 6 seconds over Jalving. That engine obviously doesn't need to be used again, because Greenhalgh is getting every ounce out of it.

And now coming into the final lap, we have Greenhalgh sitting a full 7.5 seconds ahead of Jalving in 2nd place.

Sheppard meanwhile has closed right up on Warrington just to make sure that he doesnt lose out on the podium when the penalty is applied.

Greenhalgh comes round Rascasse for the very last time, and in the 2 sectors on this lap so far he still gains 1 second. He just won't slow down will he!

Ed Greenhalgh wins the Monaco Grand Prix!

Charrel Jalving now crosses the line in 2nd place, a long way back, but he could have so easily won this...

Warrington crosses the line in 3rd, but his one stop means he faces a penalty, so Glen Sheppard takes 3rd place! I guess that means his boss now has to jump into the harbour naked! Oh dear...

Race Over! Congratulations to Ed Greenhalgh of Aston Martin Racing! He had to wait the whole race for the chance to take the lead, but when he had it, he really didn't stop did he! Constantly lapping so much faster than everyone else, i guess that earnt him the win. Although a little sneaky by Aston to use Warrington to slow Jalving into Greenhalgh ;-). On another day Charrel could very easily have won this race though.

Warrington finished 12.5 seconds behind the leader, then a 12.5 second penalty is added on for 1 stopping, which puts him in 7th just ahead of Cartwright. Sorry to AMR about that, but the magic data is 100% correct, and no matter what i did there was always someone who 1 stopped in every test i did...

Full results will follow this on a seperate post.
I hope you enjoyed the coverage of this overtakingless race, i did try to make the best of it ;-).
Anyway thank you all for watching, and goodnight!
