Hi guys,

As you may know, Renault F1 officially revealed that the colours used for their 2011 team and cars, Lotus Renault GP, will be black and gold (It is not a scoop but now, it is official)

I guess that the red colour from Total logo will change into black and gold also (well, I hope so...)

Another guy designed F1 2011 concept cars: [f1-catalog.blogspot.com]

Maybe it could inspire some of us to start making some fictional F1 2011, by waiting the official launch dates....

Be inspired ;-)

Nice one, congrats!

Sorry but I didn't keep the templates of my first R30 (and the 2nd version is still WIP). Anyway, MPad's car is better to work on ;-)

The logos on the sidepod winglet and the shark fin are "Japan Rags". You can see it better in this picture on the inside of the rear wing.

And the logo next to the word Renault is the "elf" logo.

You can see it better in these pictures

there is a little problem: the inside of the rear wing and the sunpension are linked whit r30_carb.tex so i can't paint them.
the car is finished i'm only waiting for the permission :)

You can add a new tex for each item with 3D Editor.
Good job!

Hi,

To map just the front suspensions with a new texture:

1- Copy and rename the original r30_carb.tga into r30_carb2.tga, for example.
2- Edit the texture with the Genii logos.
3- Into Zmodeler, Materials (press E key), copy the default material and rename it as r30_carb2.tga, then assign the primary textures with the new carb tex (with the Genii logo)
4- just enable these 4 car objects into your window (top view): left_front_suspension, left_rear_suspension, right_front suspension, right_rear_suspension
5- with the easy rectangle selector tool, select these 4 objects (they will appear in red), then, press the "faces" button (3), click_right into your window.
6- click on "Select", "by material" and choose the r30_carb.tex, all the suspensions parts will appear in red .
7- Click on "select", "single" and with the easy rectangle selector tool + the Ctrl key , select only the rear suspension, they will be unselected. Now, just the front suspensions are selected.
8- open the materials window, select the "r30_carb2.tex" and click on "Assign to selection" then "Apply changes" and "Ok"
9- Now, click on "Surface", "mapping", "Assign UV" and click left on one of the selected faces (in red)
10- click on "None", right-click into the window, click on the "Object" button (4) and right-click again into the window. the "Sel" button must be disabled
11- On the top left of your window, choose "Uv Mapper" and move the suspension on your texture if it is not well placed.
12 Export your car into GP4, open it with GP4builder and save. It is done...

But you will have to make new lower lods also.. And don't forget to convert your r30_carb2.tga into tex.... ;-)

Too bad they won't be able to use The John Players Special Logos (JpS) Because
1. Out Of Business
2. No Tobacco
Kinda makes ya wish that they were a racing group with nothing to do with Tobacco.

/that and Camel. they just look good on the cars,
//Truth, Smoking is bad.
