The F1 2010 Conversions Thread - Updated Ferrari P4

some guys say too much crap around here.

let the guy convert the damn car if he wants so..

he will realize the CM models are poor .

i spent my last night converting and adding on my gp4 game..

after all i use my back up with rft models converted.

IF he needs help and if he wants the cm models.. help him or shut up.. dont need to come here and say stupid words.

I second that!
And may I add: after a few tweaks, the CM shapes look pretty good ingame.
I would liko to salude Josekast for giving his time to this project, it will be a huge bonus to all gp4 community.
Some people around here talk too much crap and do nothing to contribute to the community. Maybe that's why so many good modders are quitting GPG and posting their works somewhere else...

Got to say these cars are not poor take a look at this shot I just resized the car and some re-mapping.
Any one that knows me knows that I can't look at anything without editing it ..... I even edited my girl friend the other day ...... mmmh. That's another story.
I have not touched these screens ...... nor do I want to they are beautiful all on their own, your call!

Josekast is the person that is extrackting these cars I am just helping with the textures and shape updating I am sure he will release when he is ready and all the cars are correct

Simple .... you can't see the cars in F1 2010. There is no Panoramic view or AI racing. All you are stuck with is long winded babble about your career, then you are stuck behind the wheel for the race endurance, you can not even see a replay unless you complete the race. This is an F1 game in 'the first person' only, there is no interaction with the rest of the field you only see other cars if you pass them or they pass you. The AI cars dont even do a proper lap they just pop up when you come near them or they pass you. The graphics in this game are excptional but as I have said before you only ever see them from your cockpit ..... so yes it's crap.

Further to wich any one who has been associated with GP4 from it's inception know's exactly how crap it is. At least we can exploit the cars from 2010 a lot better than the game for wich they were made, so personally I am glad for these conversions.

Not quite true, he's been editing some of liveries

It certainly is a bit of a grey area, but I personally don't mind it.

The first step is to convert the cars. Then, myself, Isaint and Josekast will work on liveries and track specific versions. There's already a Barcelona Red Bull and Renault got liveries for all GPs.

Normals need fixing - would be nice to separate out the damage model as there's lots of useless polies hidden inside the model

Is it also possible to convert the F1 2010 circuits to GP4?

Looks like circuits are very harder to convert than the cars...I wonder if it's possible to convert the 3d steering wheels to gp4...

not for the circuit is impossible, gp4 file can only hold 16 mb, beyond that, the track does not work and the f1 2010 tracks are much more important and too detailed to be adapted.
