The F1 2010 Conversions Thread - Updated Ferrari P4

Hello, Guys

Isaint and Josekast are doing an amazing job converting the F1 2010 cars to GP4. Pretty soon, we should have all cars ready to be put ingame. Now I'm thinking: what if I turn my personal 2010 mod into a community 2010 mod, using these cars? I don't see any permisisons problems and more people would be able to enjoy these wonderful models.
Let me know what you think!

Jucksman

I think there is some threads about this earlier ( car goes black from far distance) at least Lo2k and Gezere have posted how to fix that :)

I opened the redbull in blender: it seems there are a lot of double points, that could be the problem. Tomorrow i'll try to work a bit on the shape and see if it works.

I think it can get fixed with gp4builder changin UVmapping coordinate to -1 or something like that....I will try to find the answer.

EDIT found this, from Lo2k:

Concerning black parts and as it seems more people are getting such kind of troubles (probably due to more conversions attempts), here are the 2 main reasons :
- TEX file texture size do not match Maximal sizes. To fix this, simply save biggest of the 4 textures and import it again to replace actual one. If maximal sizes changed, then sizes were wrong. Downsample biggest texture (via right click) to create lowest ones and save your .tex. Done.
- Second possibility : you converted a car from another game and some of the mapping coords have values out of 0 to 1 range. (Some user got 1 to 2 range). In this case, you ought to get values back to 0-1 range (in the case of my user, I just asked him to use the texture displace feature, using U=0 and V=-1 to be sure all his values will be back in 0-1 range).

it's a bit more apparent from zmodeler, the wire has to be in the box with the texture in

its easy guys..

after converting the MAS to files, save as objects into a folder.
Import them all in ZMODELER 1. DO THE TEXTURE MAPS, and save as z3d files.

open the saved file ( z3d) in ZMODELER 2and save as old z3d object.

open the new file in zmodeler 1 and export as gp4 file.

NO MAPPING NEEDED AFTER THAT.

put in game and no problems.

z modeler 2 fixes the -1 and 1 mapping bug.

I think some people should quit posting idiotic responses about things they don't know nothing about. Nobody's leeching anything here, smart-ass. Josekast is simply converting the cars from F1 2010 (wich is crap, by the way) to GP4, wich is old but still a vastly superior game.

Thanks all you guys for the help! I'm sure josekast will be very pleased and we'll have some excellent cars to race with!

indeed jucks..

IMO gp4 and rfactor converted cars are more detailed than f1 2010 cars.

** i wish i had a game with gp4 gameplay mixed with f1 2010 graphics and rules**

one thing i've noticed, watch out for the size of the cars - I haven't checked all of the cars yet, but the Lotus seems much too big.

i think your the idiot with the idiotic response. you only write that because you cant wait to play these stolen car shapes. when people "'convert" cars that are made for rfactor, they do seem to go and get permission. i suspect this guy probably didnt pay for the game, as he wants to release stuff to the public that they should be paying for. the codemasters guys put a lot of effort into the game and the car shapes, and now people who dont own the game will get to use the cars for free in gp4.

I personally think it's our right to get these cars for GP4, as F1 2010 was broken to core. I don't care if Codies put a lot effort into the models; the game is broken and I refuse to buy it.

What if there was a f1 2010 check of some kind. So the install checks if you have f1 2010 installed, if so lets you install the mods.

bla bla bla and in the end it keeps to say that it's stolen.
I think in the EULA is written, that you can't take this work as base of your own work. So if you use them and convert them, it's a base of an own work. even it's not YOUR own.

It has nothing to do if anyone bought it or not, it's just the rules! You can't also take the Office out from Windows and put it on Linux and say: there, you get it for free. it's crap on windows, but we HAVE THE RIGHT to have it on Linux. It's ridicolous !

Stop converting or there will be a real problem for you. sooner or later.

I don't know why people can't wait or just try to make THEIR OWN work (from scratch). Like liddle children!

All knows this Cars are from F1 2010 josecast only convert them and dont modify them and say i have made this Cars he says the true. So in a codemasters Forum who are Codemasters Member are Online are doing some People the same for Rfactor converting F1 2010 Cars to this Game and nothing of F1 2010 Members are saying anything.
