I have to agree to Nathan (Macca), that's a very nice car indeed, especially for a first try car!

I haven't sent the helmet to harjinator yet, but I think I'll get it done later in the evening.

woo good to see this getting near to start :D

i like the race strategy harj, seems good to me, except how possible is it to extend the pit stop strategy deadline til after qualifying? i mean if i have a dreadful qualifying for some reason, i wont want to be on a 2 or 3 stopper anymore, more like 1 stopper, so is that possible?

thanks, and nice cars peoples :)

@truecrysis - it'd depend how close together the race and qualifying are going to be. I was going to run on consecutive days (like an F1 weekend), but i could probably run qualli on a saturday and a race on a weds, which would give the time to submit pit strategies.

it's possible, but would rely very heavily on everybody else getting things to me quickly, which i think would be annoying for everybody involved really!

beautiful!

Nathan - is there any chance you could paint me a generic GPGNC car? just white with some blue and red stripes or something? As it stands, i have 3 unconfirmed entries, so if they don't make it, i'll have them in the wad for advertisement, lol Maybe have that guy pointing his finger on the sidepod - your nation needs you!!

Yer, I can do that. I think you should just put in some other teams without owners and then once the competition gets underway people will become interested and pick up thoses teams.
For instance, you already have the Greece car and I can do a Monaco or Mexico are anything, just to make the champiship look complete.

I'll send you the Italian and Madagascan cars tomorrow. Still working on the Dutch car.

Paulo - i can do a mid-season livery/car change. that's no problem

Really need to start getting this into CSM - as it stands at the moment, i have a cars wad and that's at 400+ meg. not easily sharable!

BTW, all my texes that i've done come out at 21 meg. I've seen some that are smaller - how come? is there a setting i've missed somewhere?

That depends on how you paint the textures. The more layers you use, the bigger the file becomes. I, for example, tend to use many layers to be able to edit some stuff easily, later. But this pushes the size of the file very much. You can edit the layers on smaller sizes, just to the points where it's needed. But that's some extra amount of work. Nevertheless it helps to keep the file small, if needed.

The number of layers shouldn't affect the size of the .tex texture. Since this is only one layer. You could try using another program, another setting (if using Slimtex) or maybe downsize the texture to a smaller size.

Well, I'm using GIMP and my file size increases, when I add a new layer, I've tested that.

Yes, the photoshop file. But when converted to tex it's all single layer ;-) Tex doesn't store layers in it's compression, mostly because you convert TEX from TGA which is a single-layer image file.

Ah, for any reason I read textures instead of texes in harjinator's post, sorry ;-) In this case I agree to you.
Regarding the tex-files: Are you using Slimtex? There you have presets, which make the car tex-files (for example) 5.441 KB.
