Buying new pc - suggestions welcome

Hello all :)

I'll order a new computer this month, to get back playing/editing GP4 after a long time.

So I'd like some suggestions and also some quick answers.

I'm willing to spend something around 1,100 dollars / 850 euros.

Quick questions:
- Dual core and quad core work well with GP4?
- What is better, 2.5 GHz quad core or 2.7 GHz dual core? (For example)
- Windows 7 works well with GP4?
- ATI or NVIDIA graphics card? (Always used NVIDIA and never had problems)

Answers to the questions:

I have a dual core PC, GP4 and everything else I run runs perfectly. Not sure about a quad though
No idea
I have Windows 7 Ultimate x64, GP4 works perfectly in some compatibility modes
I find ATi are atm ahead of NVIDIA in speed and how fast/smooth/detailed you can run things, but it's really personal choice

1- Works well with a dual core. A quad Core won't be useful to run GP4 (excepted if you are playing to recent games, also)
2- Between 2,7Ghz and 3,2Ghz would be great.
3- Yes, the game runs perfectly with Windows 7 (32 and 64 bits)
4- There is no recommended graphic card. It is a matter of "taste" and comfort. Both Nvidia and Ati Radeon are good and can give similar performances. If you feel good with Nvidia, just stay with it. Nvidia's ones are just a little bit noisier and more expensive than Ati's ones. Just look at a 512 Go minimum (1Go is better).

GP4 runs always on 1 CPU and its performance is depending more on the CPU performance than on the GPU.
So it will run better on dual core @ 3.00GHz than on a quad at 2.5GHz. I suggest an i5 proccessor @3.00GHz or higher if you can afford it.
Nvidias are considered better for gaming and ATIs better for HD video stuff, but only when refering to extreme performances.
GP4 would be OK with either of them but if you intend to play at high screen resolutions, go for a card with high ram - 1GB or more should be enough.

Try this combination,

Intel i7 800
DPK55KG Intel mobo
Geforce GTX 480
DDR3 4gb PC3 16000

No need for external audio hardware.
Just to be sure, use the ever reliable WinXP as O/S.
