How many driver changes will be allowed throughout the season?

Wow, this is taking shape nicely. Can't wait for the draw,
I'm tossing up whether I want to manage a top team to win
from the beginning or a lower team to have the challenge of
building them up.

The rules and regulations that you have come up with are
very good from what I have read, but can I suggest a few
things that I was thinking about.

You could make it a full on tyre war. You could maybe add Pirelli,
Goodyear, Avon, Continental, Dunlop, Englebert, Firestone and
each one could have it's own advantages and disadvantages which
would be represented in the perfs and costs from your budget.
For example, Bridgstone might be the best tyre but it will cost more
to have a contract with them each year. The same principle could be
applied to engien suppliers.

Also, I suggested this in the GPGSL and they liked it but thought it
was to complecated to implement. If you have set percentages for
rain for a weekend like they do in the GPGSL, that would allow teams
to gamble on taking a wet setup in to that weekends quali and race.
If it rains then the team will have an advantage but if it stays dry then
they will be slow all weekend. The idea behind it is the manager of the
team looks at the rain percentage for the weekend, (lets say it's 80%)
and chooses to take in a wet setup. Then if it does rain, that team will
have a performance gain (most likely by adjusting the perfs) over a team
that has a dry setup. I don't really know how all the perfs and things like
that work so I'm unsure if this is possible but if you could figure a way of
implementing this into the game then I think it is a benefit as it introduces
an extra element of strategy into the race weekend.

Just a thought, you can choose to ignor this if you like but I just though I
would through some ideas out there and see if any stuck.

Keep up the great work and I cant wait to be apart of you Managers Leauge.

Sorry for not getting back sooner, working nights :(

Kizz you made it just in time to get the final spot

MDBSnake im affraid you were around 20 mins too late. But i shall stick you down on the waiting list, so if anyone leaves or becomes in-active then i will make sure you are the first to know

redbulljack14 you can make as many driver changes you want through the season aslong as you have money left in your budget. If you haven't got any money left in your budget then you can change your race drivers with your test drivers as much as you want. But too much swapping around will bring uncertainty and a larger variable

Macca25 loving the feedback, this is what im after from people! i was thinking with the tyres, we could maybe introduce a new tyre brand here and there down the line. So start with Michelin and Bridgestone but that wouldnt mean we would finish with them. The set up thing i wouldnt be too sure how to implement that, but how about we ran a practice session before qualifying. This would involve your test drivers/third drivers. we could then give the top finishes teams a small boost for the race. This would act like having a good setup for the weekend and would be simple to implement. It would also stop people just picking crap test drivers

Incident2k9 and CaptinFranko, we could make your own signings for the 2003 season but this would delay the competition by about three weeks. We could start 2003 as it is, have the draw done by the weekend and start the racing. You could then start make signings through the season for the 2004 season

Let me know what you's think

EDIT - Only problem i have at the minute is that i can't find 2003 helmets for yoong, verstappen and bernoldi or test drivers . If anyone knows where i can get some then that would be a great help. Cheers

That sounds fine to me I dont have a problem starting with 2003 teams and drivers and then building up from there. I MAY be able to run some race events or practiceses if you need as well.

CaptinFranko that may be an option to look into. For example next week i wont be able to run any races from monday for about a week as i wont have access to my pc

I don't know if i mentioned this but for the 11th team we will use Arrows as they were there in 2002. They will be on par with Minardi

I have two issues outstanding....

First is that i need to get sorted is verstappen, bernoldi and yoong's helmets and then im ready to go. If anyone can help me with that then that would be fantastic

secondly i remember using gpxpatch years ago and when i pressed tab a timing screen come up in the top right hand corner with about 8 drivers on. However when i do this now it has no affect. Anyone know anything about that? Wether im pressing the wrong key or what i dont know. Cheers in advance

I think that '9' is the button your looking for and aren't verstappen, bernoldi and yoong's helmets in the pack on GP4DB?

Yeah that's the helmet set i'm using at the minute. Got Verstappen's helmet sorted. Remembered about the cars file which has a few helmets in ;)

As for Bernoldi and Yoong they aint in there at the minute. Just using Gene's and Baumgartner's helmet at the moment

I'll show give 9 a try, cheers

Then i'll do the draw for the teams

Nah you wouldn't have to watch from the sidelines lol. If you turned Toyota into a succesful team then they would more then likely stay in the series. If not then you could find yourself having offers from the likes of lotus etc or you may have moved from Toyota

Burazel, this might sound a bit odd but would you be open to swap Renault for Jordan? I prefer an underdog. :D
