Run gp4 with gpx_patch3.10, the gp4 must be a clean install with the decrypted exe from this site and no officialbutreallyunofficial patch installed, set gpx_patch to run in debug mode with verbosity set to high. When a forced exit occurs gpx_patch will generate a log file. The log should show the cause and where the forced exit occured. It's also a well documented fact here that it's pretty tricky getting gp4 up and running on xp for the majority of users. For some including myself it was much easier to revert back to win98
xp gobbles huuuge amounts of ram for some strange reason although this is not directly the cause it sure don't help, jason b is definately on the right track, I had problems there too. If you think you have redundant registry entries causing you problems use cleanreg3, it's shareware so deleting the selected entries must be done manually
Use enditall to be sure all available recources are available to gp4. Some of the info may be useful, get back to us with your final solution. btw say "Hi to Tara" for me
