Welcome to the coverage of the penultimate round of this season.

Friday Free Practice;

On the testers front, it's all about securing a race seat. The most succesfull best tested tester is all but confirmed, Hungarian Somogyi seems to have tester#1 standings, in the bag, though the quick driver from Holland Ruben Greidanus could still in theory take the first place.

BEFORE ZANDVOORT GP TESTER RATINGS

1.Somogy 140
2. Greidanus 110
3.Vilela 108
4.Davies 105
5.Walters 84

Somogy has signed a contract with Italian English for s5 and we'll talk about other signings later
Vilela, MPR tester has gotten what he always wanted, a race seat with Tafuro GP, where Florian Fischeder will join him as his teammate.
Jethro Walters will make a comeback to racing in season 5 with IED.

Aston Martin has bought out Velox, and Adam Davies performance assured him of a race seat with what looks to be a top team next season.

We'll get to the Dutch free practice in a moment, but let's talk about the intriguing state of drivers championship as well.
After a podium in Canada, Slovenian Marko Aleksander whos' been cathcing up all season long brings a deja vu as he takes the lead in WDC standing after round 15,just like last season. Scoring 132 points, only one single point infront of Australian Matt Houston, who's been in two accidents recently. Excitement considering the small gap doesn't end there. Velox' Nick van der Voort has scored a triple one, 17 points in Montreal with a win, pole and fl and that has elevated him to third, just 8 points of Aleksander. Can anyone say F1 2007?

BEFORE ZANDVOORT WDC STANDINGS:
1. Aleksander 132
2. Houston 131
3. Van der Voort 124
4.Oakley 108
5. Santilal 107
6. Greenhalgh 107

Actually everyone in top 6 still has a chance to be the season 4 GPGSL World Champion, and with 32 points up for grabs in last two races, drama surely will ensue.
Groeneboer will try to catch up with his team-mate, and Randy Winston made it into top 10.
What will happen is anyones guess ....
We'll have some answers in qualifying, so make sure you tune in, though qualy may just raise more questions than answers.

With a championship overview out of the way, let's focus now on what is about to kick off, the very important testing session.

Quite pleased with that. I have found form at the right time
with the last three races producing points for me.
And I still have a boost to use in the last round.

Official statement from John Maverick directly after the FP

That was crap. Total crap. I really don't know what happened here, but obviously Zandfoort has it's own rules. We not only weren't competitive to TSS, MPR or IED, but to nearly nobody. I am even glad that I could beat Adam, who seemed to have even more problems than I had - incredibly. And all in all this is very cold comfort.

Somogyi Zsigmond press release:
There were problems with the car. It was a bad fp we have to forget it. Congrat to the teammate.

(Its a bit bizarre, that I have better performance data and I got 1.3 sec..... it is too much i think...)

GP4 has his rules mate;-)

My GPGSL Career
yes, Zsigmond, Zandvoort the track or its MD, seems to have an incredible range, look how much time drivers lost in 2nd sectors,Ruben almost 2 seconds in last 2 sectors of one of his laps, Zandvoort's been known for producing mixed grids.

pre qualy build up, M. Aleksander (MPR)

"Looking at free practice, it's a compromise of setups. You can be quick in one sector on expense of the others, so we'll have to find a way to bring the car to the optimum.
It's comforting that both Dan and Rod were in top 10, also close to eachother, we are fine tuning the car as we speak for qualy. It's going to be an exciting session as we also dont know who was sandbagging.

i didn't vote it.i guess that dutch members made it(obviously).we should plan to pass on assen:-)

My GPGSL Career
Didnt everyone want mixed grids anyway?;)
Zandvoort then should be popular track.:-)

we can always decrease AI errors next season for Zandvoort (like we did for Suzuka, make it an exception to 40 errors rule).
