GPGSL Round 5 Rolling Hills Grand Prix

Weather report

Track Wet, intermittent rain.

The race is about to start here at Rolling Hills, so sit back, get the popcorn out and enjoy the show.

Van der Voort on pole. Just waiting for the RD to give the green light.

The race is on!

Great start by Van der Voort, and everyone makes it through turn one.

Hinz takes the lead from Van der Voort during the first lap.

Oakley looks for a way round Van der Voort.

Onboard with Houston as Greenhalgh puts in a quick lap.

Houston makes a move on Van Smirren.

Greenhalgh applies pressure on Hinz and looks for a opening.

Hinz is forced to give way as Greenhalgh outbrakes him into the turn.

Greenhalgh now has clean air and looks set to sprint away.

Greenhalgh leads at Rolling Hills.

Groeneboer at the back of the pack.

Houston passes his team mate.

Houston now up into third and a possible finish on the podium. It's a long way to go and anything can happen, and it usually does!

Aleksander in ninth and squeezing every last ounce of power out of his car.

Oakley passes Van der Voort. Something wrong with car Nick? Pedal faster my good man!

But Van der Voort skilfully holds off Oakley and retains his position.

'Spanky' Grant in tenth place.

Italian driver Tafuro in sixteenth.

NOOOOO! Van der Voort Spins!

Rejoins safely, albeit in sixteenth place.

Pit lane is busy, Aleksander on the way in.

Race leader enters the pits.

Hinz pits, a quick turn around for the DFR pit-crew.

Light rain falls and Greenhalgh still at the pointy end of the race.

Houston runs wide, and on fresh tyres too!

A fast lap to make up for the earlier mistake.

Santilal now in third place.

Groeneboer pulls off the track.

We'll listen in to the team radio and try and find out what's going on there.

It's just been confirmed, Groeneboer has retired due to an electrical fault. Maybe the cigarette lighter or the mp3 player failed.

Greenhalgh well out in front.

Race leader pits.

The DFR pitcrew work frantically to keep Hinz at the business end of the race.

Grant up into third place. No bramble spanking for Keeley tonight if she gets up onto the podium!

We have a collision! It's...it's.....Santilal! Looks like a failed passing move on Hinz.

The moment of contact.

And the end result. End of the race for Santilal.

Grant passes the scene.

Hinz manages to continue.

Passed by Oakley.

Aleksander takes advantage of the situation and slips past Hinz as well.

Aleksander looks for a way past Oakley, but Oakley is determined to retain his third place.

De Boer shunts Warrington!

Mayhem on the track as Tafuro takes evasive action to avoid De Boer.

De Boer is out of the race.

Ed Greenhalgh TSS takes the chequered flag at Rolling Hills.

That's it for the race coverage from Rolling Hills. The official results will be posted by the GPGSL later, probably after the race director has his tea. :-)

That wasn't what I predicted, dammit!
Fantastic, nice to get my first win for the season!

My results have been like a yo-yo so far this season, so hopefully I can now be more consistent into the next part of the season.

So my somewhat innocent looking run off cost me 50s+?
What a joke... GP4 is so crap sometimes...

GPGSL WDC Season 4
My worst race of the whole season so far, wasted boost and everything....

But: congrats for my teammate, at least he had a good ride!!!

Hey! you've made a mistake ;) Thats not me shunting Warrington!
That's Byron and his DXR! On the first photo it's not visible but you can see the VSM and an upcoming phoenix car, looking at the standings from 2 laps earlier you get 8. Warrington, 9. v/h Bolscher and 10 Stoddart, I'm way back from those places somewhere on 16th or so
Further Byron dnf'ed and I finished ;)

And a real shame for Hinz to get knocked down of the podium by an enthusiastic maneuverer of Monil, but still solid points for him :) My race however, well let's just move to the next!

Sorry about the mistake, after so many laps it all becomes a blur, and difficult to remember everything too. :-)

Very bad result. This is not good for the championship. It's not over, we'll be back!

YES! Brilliant job by Phil to get himself back onto the podium yet again and of course by Ed getting the win!

Just the race we needed and I'm really looking forward to seeing the championships now

It's a shame Warrington had to do a brake test on me ;) Bit of a crap race for me and Maikel, but atleast Hinz scored some good points, despite my idiotic teamboss costing him a podium :P

Oehhh, that was close again for Warrington! Almost got driven off the track by someone again!!

Anyhow, a great weekend for VSM!

First of all test session was great, a 1 - 2.. Then qualifying was good..

At the race, we did well.. Ricardo had sme trouble finding the racepace, but he did very well!
Both drivers scored some good points, so lets continiue this at the next race!

i lost my points chances when i had to avoid Byron;i lost a lot of speed there, and nick, stefan and stu took advantage from that, and overtook me:(

anyway, next race will be good,as mal finished in points(4 points=1BHP,right?),and now i see that some teams\drivers played their boost badly,so we've a good chance to recover:-)

My GPGSL Career
really pleased to score some points again

also had a nice pace looking at my fastest lap
