Yeah I understand mate. The Geforce 4 mx 420 is the lowest of the Geforce 4 range, but don't let taht put you off, it's a brilliant card, and it only costs about 50 squid.

what would happen if i played GP4 with my now crappy PA3000 Plus?

hmm you would just get a nasty frame rate, or a nice frame rate with nasty graphics. It's not TOO crappy, but for GP4 you will need something better.

how nasty would the graphics be then?

very pixelated, I'll put it. You'll have textures changing and moving, and you might not be able to find the correct braking zones and apexes. Those are some of the problems I had.

Frame rates at a constant 60-80 fps methinks. Upto only 110 in traffic because cars further away are more washed out. Graphics very nice indeed.

So can a Geforce give good performance in conjunction with a P700 or does it need a more powerful processor?

Well, I'm not 100%, because when I bought my CPU it had a Geforce 4 mx 420 already in it, but I know they are cheap, so I would say yes. And if you could get hold of 50 quid, definetly buy it.

oh, and a stupid question. is GP4 out in the UK?

1.) No GP4 isnt out till next Friday
2.) Check your clock speed (CPU hertz) by going to system properties in teh start menu
3.) YOu will need a pretty good processor for it. Mine is a 2ghz and it runs well with it. You will need a better processor than 700mhz to have nice graphics and frame rates.

just right click on My Computer and click on propeties.

Well on anything less than a P550 MHz it will run as fast as Michael Barrymore would run from Will Young.
