Just testing as far as I know, if it works well some of the races will be vids, and some as pics. It's heavy on the bandwidth to have everyone d/l a 100mb vid so I'd guess it wont ideally suit everyone. The W300 is trying it as well for the same race. With a video there will be no commentary, just race sounds. I think before we decide which way to go in the future there'll be a poll.

Thanks for the perf Mal It mainly was a test yes, though I quite like it as you can oversee everything happening like it goes, this makes crashes look better
And as Mal said: there is no commentary .. which is pretty a shame

About downloading the vid, well it has been posted in Stage6 afterwards to view (so you didn't had to download the 100mb) - but because Megavideo wasn't uploading it correct and time was passing by quickly (race was already delayed much) I decided to post download links

Maybe some real life commentary would be cool though Just recording (my voice) but I would have to expiriment with that


I would like to ask now for the Hockenheim race then 2 things:

1. -> Race on the new Hockenheim or (as I choose myself) the old, long version?
2. -> Would you prefer screenie coverage? Or video coverage?

new Hockenheim - Coverage is entirely up to you

Old Hockenheim, Coverage is like Tom said up to you, i like them both

If we decide to use commentary, I would think it's the smartest thing to do to let someone who hasn't really got a bad accent do it. I mean, I usually hate to hear a French accent in English for instance (no offence). But also the UK tends to have some nasty accents. But then, to send the whole file to the commentator and then he (or she) has to commentate it, it would be very time consuming. On the other hand, the commentator wouldn't know what would be going to happen, so (s)he'd have some real 'surprisedness' instead of the race-director who already knows what's gonna happen.

/rant over :P

Also, we need someone who isn't embarresed to shout at a screen when something exciting happens

The video google worked fine.. you dont need to download the file

Btw no comentary by voice.. but just by text in the video is cool to..
