Just a quick question.

Im modifying one of the original GP4 tracks to a night race, and am wondering about changing the sky texture obviously from sky blue to black with stars.

However ive gone thru every texture in the track ("Sepang WAD"/maps/sepang2001) and cannot seem to find the texture.

Would the texture be in there and im missing it, or am i looking in the wrong place?

Thanks,

Slasher

Excellent, got hold of the texture, however whats the procedure to get the sky dark?

I placed it in the "Sepang WAD"/maps/sepang2001 folder (thats the track im modifying), but alas no dark sky.

Ive noticed in GPX patch under "gpxset" a section with skybitmap prefix.

Has this anything to do with it or do i need to find the texture that makes the sky blue at the Sepang track and replace that with the "stars" texture? And if so, is it a generically named texture, the skyblue texture that is, or am i in for a lengthy search to find this elusive sky blue texture in the Sepang folder?

Thanks,

Slasher

i havent check the default track.wads but in the new ones there is a file called cloud-07.tex,

Take the Stars.tex and rename it to this and copy it in.

hope this helps :)

Thanks a lot for your reply Q1s2.

Unfortunately the default track doesnt appear to have the "cloud-07.tex". It might be a case of going thru every texture file and replacing with the stars tex. until finally hitting the target.

Again, thanks for your reply.

you could also try to import the sky some object to a default track.

it seems that the cloud-07 comes in the newer updated tracks so maybe if u just found the tracks of the 2001 season and use them??

It's a lot easier to open GP4-Builder and check what texture has been assigned to the track's sky object, rather than going texture-per-texture.

If there isn't a sky object, do what Briere said and import it from another track. GP4's original tracks come without this object.
