Well, dunno, been there in Monza and walked past the circuit and that oval is very cool but also @#$%& dangerous, so maybe not ;) The state of the oval isn't very good neither

Agreed, and morevoer with the actual cars, and the clockwise rotation around the track, it could cause heart problems for the drivers, because of the forces when cornering and the heart being in theleft side of the human body. That's the reason why all the actual ovals are anticlockwise.

Woah, I never thought it was because of anything like that. I thought it was because anti-clockwise makes it easier for the public in the stands to watch the race (imagine watching a race in an oval which is facing outwards instead of inwards - you can't see the other side!)

Damn, i really hope he is. Otherwise, he should go back to physics-class immediately.

However, neither did i realise it was anti-clockwise for preventing that kind of heartproblems! Interesting. :)

if i've understood what you've written, do you mean the way the banking is facing? i.e. the banking is facing inwards so people can see all round an oval, but if it is banked "outwards", then we wouldn't be able to see the other side?

that's not what is being discussed by "clockwise" and "anti-clockwise".

Good good, now to get rid of the chicanes :P (Also, if it's possible?, the banking should be concave :))

Yeah, that's what I meant, and now i realise clockwise/anti-clockwise is a whole different thing, lol.

I always thought that the anti-clockwise thing was due to the fact america drive on the right - i.e. on the inside of the corner, whereas Europe used to drive on the left (as the UK still do) so their courses went clockwise, which is why, if I'm not mistaken, Brooklands went clockwise
