it could be something wrong with your anim.wad file.

I inserted a Google earth screen to my new track, I undertood the first eight steps, but I actually have no idea how to do step 9: 9.engage displace, rotate and/or scale button and click and drag in the 3d view to place and fit your background object to existing .dat or to your place. I have no idea where I can change this?

Sorry if it is already asked and awnsered, but I cannot find the anwser.

You have these nice little buttons at the top of your screen next to the FixCam button. Just select your object, click one of these buttons and move your mouse around.

Answers are in the GP4Builder User Guide at chapter 1.3 (and 1.4 for dragging).

@Lo2K and Erix, thanks for the tip, I found the buttons and now I can finally start with the physical side of the track, thanks :).

Do all of you use programs like 3dsMax and Autocad to create the graphics? I thought I could just copy paste things from the original GP4 tracks and have something at least mildly decent, but I need at least to create the land around, and it seems it's pretty hard to do it with the Gp4Builder fence builder.

Today with GP4Builder it's very easy imo to create land with several height changes with fence builder, just keep trying. :)

The preview function of it does the trick for me and with 'vertice snap' you can connect the different faces with each other.

I prefer it above 3dsMax and Autocad.

This is what i for example created with fence builder for the Zandvoort track:

Fence builder has never been designed to create lands (even if it can be used this way for close land).

Humm, thanks for the tips. My problem was mostly into getting the different land pieces together, i'll check out the vertice snap thing.

And since we're asking noob questions.. where do you guys get all those nice hi-res tarmac, grass, kerb textures.. do you do them on your own, or take them from somewhere on the web?

Mainly i take it from other gp4 tracks or tracks from other race sims.

In special cases i let someone make new textures, which i'm very thankful for.

Hehe, hereĀ“s another (maybe) noob question from me. See this image:

On the picture you can see that a part of the image falls outside the GP4Builder square. Does this mean that this part will not be shown in GP4? If yes, how can I move the first sector? I have used all possible ways to move and rotate the image, but always there's a part that falls outside the square. So, is there a way to move the first sector instead of the Google Earth image?

Sorry for my English :)

Hoogeveense RAT

have you try rescaling it.

i have question does the pit lane have to start before the startline as i am making the 1948 version of silverstone and the pitlane was after the startline.

thanks

@Hoogeveense RAT : Track must lie in the black square to avoid any trouble. Badly this prevent from creating long tracks as Le Mans or others and maybe yours. You can displace the first sector anyhow, as all the other sectors.

@Carling: Every original tracks have pitlane entry before S/F line and exit after it and I'm not sure using a pitlane fully before or after the S/F line will work. All you can do is trying.
