Just out of curiosity, how much more work is there to be done (not including tests and stuff) like work on the cars and stuff?

and you all suck, i shall win!

Then be a good sport and re-quote it then, a lot easier than having to troll through a heap of useless posts about who will or will not be fastest in the next test session.

@drivers/managers, please try and keep the thread for team and wgp discussions. It's really pointless arguing over who is going to be quickest until the lights at the end of pit-lane go green ;-)

p.s. Isn't a zeppelin something filled with hot air or gas......lol ;-)

mortal, please don't make him fart on us ;).

Anyways, I think the guys who really care about this have their stuff done, or very soon to be done, so if possible I think February should be the latest for the beginning of the season.

I say January 15th!
And gui, you implying we should start with just the people interested in this and not the people who just joined for the sake of it?

No, what I mean is that many people signed up for this and most teams are basically finished, except for the extras (pitcrew, garages...). But I imagine there's always someone who goes on with the idea early on but then stops and tells no one about it, and delays everything.

What I mean is that if there are any teams with stuff left to do and whom haven't said anything for ages now, I guess we could start without worrying about them.

Garage textures are in every track wad ;)

You'll have to trawl through every .gp4 of every wad and then you still don't know what position you're team is supposed to be in ;)

If you are as you say "his assistant man" jonny, then you more than anyone else here should know exactly what is going on, if not then maybe it's all gone pear shaped :-|
If he is not responding to emails or his pm's here then we need to rebuild the wad ourselves by sourcing everones car files etc. and restart the series from scratch with someone reliable to run it. I don't particularly mean to be all negatori about it but if this is not done asap then there will be no WGP series at all. You may recall it already fell apart once then restarted, it's beginning to have a bit of deja-vu about it. All the team managers need to do is place a vote on a breakaway series, if everyone agrees then submit their tex files to someone capable of creating a wad, upload the series wad to everyone participating and it's "go go go go" (who said that?) Later we can worry about pitcrews, garages, team slots etc. etc.

Sounds like a plan, but if this happens, the whole series needs a re-think really. For example, isn't it a bit boring just submitting cars and then watching someone else doing the races?

Well, what ideas do you suggest?

Well there aren't many hotlap competitions around. The idea spawned in my head when I started reading this thread when I first joined and it would certainly spice things up a bit.

Of course, this would mean appointing a number of people to check hotlap data and make sure that people aren't cheating, and therefore putting up a whole new set of rules etc etc

It could work, but it would take some time, and the format of races would need to be sorted somehow.

I was going to see what Flash thought of the idea for the year after, but since he's disappeared...
