may be a too much curved pitlane??
i've changed the track a lot, using a better verge around the pitlane, but it still crash. now the only thing left is the initial curve. i've used few sectors to make a less than 80 degrees turn.

edit

may be caused by the pitverge.bin not matching the new pitlane?? how i can build manually a new pitverge.bin?

edit2

no. it is related with the pitlane design only. deleting all the pitlane then adding a sector at time and creating the bin i've seen the game crashes adding certain segments. comparing my pitlane with originals i cannot see relevant differences so this is a big mistery.

b-tone: I'm using ultraedit, but you could use any hexeditor you like, i believe most (if not all) have replce function.

shuttle: you could send it to me and i'll have a look.

my latest problems:
the track works with cc about 1/3 built but crashes before weather screens. could it be a problem with one cc part? or something deeper?

the other one is that the game freezes quite often at irregular times, but usually at the same turn for me controlled cars

while your asking about crashing ;) Xero is on busy so hopefully I will catch Maverick or Lo2k. I know its the .dat as ive tested my old one and it works, I changed my spa layout a good bit, tweaking sector heights and just making it neater. Now though it doesn't get passed the main menu when you click 'drive' I get the windows 'send' or 'do not send' thing. Here is a screen just in case you can see anything :)

The only thing that I have done except for move sectors is delete one which deleted the kerb.

@B-tone: if track crash before weather screen, it has 99% chances to be a .dat mistake and thus maybe cc-line.

@Keiran: Deleting first kerb sector won't properly remove the whole kerb.
You have to remove kerb description commands for all sectors that received this kerb.

well kerbs mess never mde any of my tracks crash, i'm not saying it couldn't be it, as experience is low on this but, in my case crashing dat has always been ccline, or pitlane troubles (flags).

it being bad :)

i overlooked your post about your ccline, i was looking at spa, But have you tried lo2k's mehtod of making ccline? he once told it, and it's in the manual too.

what you do is create it, then it problably crashes, now you delete from the back towards when it doesn't crash anymore (most of the time a hairpin of some sort) you check ingame where the cars run, you'll see it differs from the ccline you have in 3deditor, the you adjust the tweakvalue so the 2 match, and you start building again. after a while you'll see the difference between ingame and 3deditor build up again, then you can refine your tweakvalue so it matches again.
worked quite nice for me on bahrain.

ok i'll try that :)

why most likely hairpin? my track freezes on the hairpin, but the hairpin is at about 10% and the track only crashes if more than about 40% of the cc line is built

i'm not following you, does it crash at 10% (where the hairpin is) or at 40%?
most likely hairpin because that's where the most errors in ccline occurs, the deviation becomes very large after a hairpin, so thats why it crashes there. (on my experience, it's not always the case i guess)

the track sometimes freezes. mostly when in my car. and mostly at the hairpin (at 10%)
i've made the wholl cc, but it crashes until i've deleted 60% of it.

so with 40% cc built it loads but sometimes freezes

ah ok i see, the random freezes are something i alos had, but i dont really know if it's track related, as i've done about 10 6 lap races in a row without crashing, but have crash even before the first corner sometimes.

well, with 40% built you can just aadjust the tweakvalue to what it looks like ingame, and try to work a couple (2 or so) sectors further, and try ingame again :)
