looks good erwin.

Lo2k.-just curious to know,as it is built from melborne2001.wad,will you eventually be able to run in say like a re-assinged "bahrain2001.wad" so you wont have to lose melborne,if that make sense.

looks nice erwin, for your pitbuildings, you should look in the dat, there are flags telling where the builsings start/stop.

I just can say that I'm very happy with the track. Even for a Beta version, it looks very nice ;-)

I'm really looking forward to see the track when its finished, but for that, I must be patient!! :-)

Thanks everyone once again :)

@Matt: it should be "doable" I think but it would need to edit track name in the GP4.exe and no tools can do it yet as far as I know (or maybe GPxPatch).

@Erwin: wonderfull buildings ! well done, mate :)
I can maybe make you some textures if you need :)

im having alot of trouble extracting melbourne.gp4 from melbourne.wad. actually i have no idea how to do it. can somebody please help and tell me how to do this?
thanks

i already renamed the whole bunch to a1ring, no trouble at all. I only need to rename it to bahrain in the menu's and i'm done (apart from the track itself), since the loadscreen was already replaced :)

@Laurent, textures are always welcome. But i still busy on the shape. The buildings you see are very beta (just main shape, nothing fancy). I noticed after resizing that the start/finish bridge tubes become too big, so that needs a rebuild. :(
The main grandstand (which i'm doing at the moment) start to look to look pretty. Proportions still looks good.

@Dave, The positions of the pitboxes & cars are most important. Cause knowing gp4 those won't line-up with the real world :(
Any idea if is non-relative positions placing for the cars in the pitboxes?

For textures, I will wait for your "final" buildings then because only final shapes will decide how to map things.

Concerning car garage position, I do believe they are regulary spaced from the start pits right (sector 44) every sector (but one, first or last I suppose) up to 33 sectors ahead where should lie pits end command (and where it isn't in beta dat : /) meaning at sector 78.

there's also two times too much connect pitlane commands...ones at 40 and 988 have to be deleted.

Lol, for car garages, it's even simpler than that.
from examples of Monaco and Monza original tracks, garages start at right pits start command (check flag list menu or directly sector 44) and each garage covers 3 sectors (1 sector = 16feet = 4.8768m).
It is obvious that length between pits start and pit end commands is 33 because 11 teams * 3sectors/garage = 33 sectors :)

hm, is the width of the boxes (and space between them) not stretched inside the two flags? thats what i always thought, never really looked into it though.

so if you stretch the sectors you can have a longer pitlane => more pitboxes for 1 team? What about the position of the cars in the pitboxes if the pitlane IS stretched?

@vesuvius, everything but the textures

i have no idea, lo2k is right in one way anyway, as all gp4 tracks have 33 sectors between pitstart and pit end. (thats where the pitboxes are put in between) but my bahrian track has 63. you should look if you can get more cars in the pits at the same time, casue i dont know if it's stretched, or it just puts it's own end to the pitboxes after 33 sectors.
IO can try it too, buit i'll be in a few days as layout has prio1 atm.
