im trying to put my zmod files in to 3ds max by saveing files as 3ds format then importing file into 3ds but the car dont seem to come complete,i mean missing some parts and also the textures ant right.what would be the problem there???any ideas would be great or tricks to solve this broblem would be great thanks
3ds only supports material and object names with up to 8 chars. Further ones will be cut off and since some objects may be identically named so, they'll be deleted. I suggest to merge them to one object with a short objectname. The same goes to the textures, who have to be smaller then 8 chars also.
I just make it easy and look after what missing in the first export. I get double up of some parts to delete. Then I look for the rest to export and merge all together in 3ds (max/viz). I did not get the texture file, so I don
