the tyres can be modified with zmodeler.
there are 3 type of .gp4 meshes (version 4,5 and 7) but zmodeler can only export version 7. it is necessary to convert wheel meshes files to version 7 and then we can modified them. the only problem with that is when you crash with your car and your wheels go away bouncing like fools...
you can see this with our 147 mod.

So in that case, could it also be possible to have two different textures for the front and rear tyres.

like in 1998, where the tyres had 3 grooves at the front and 4 grooves at the rear, (front tyres where also smaller then the rear ones)

could that texture work be possible?

a wad file can have up to 4294967295 files and it doesn't really matter how much junk tex files you put into it. each individual shape has its own/points to its own textures.
so you do the math
i have to admit.. never checked it out myself

I don't think it's possible, as the tyreshape have to be pointing at michelin tyres textures in order to work. But I've never tried, so, why don't you try by yourself? It should be very useful to know if it works or not :

I think each team will have it's own shape. I don't know, as this is not my MOD, it's Leolo's. Anyway, he has done rellay a great job!
