Yes the cars are gone physically because I "forced" inexistent cars to be as "out of the race". But that screenshot also show us that car starting order not (yet) in correct order.

The method that I'm using does not removing pitcrews. This is also (atm) only tested on quickrace and single race modes. I've been testing awhile in qualifying (without the tweak!) and both practise session/modes without found any problems but I can't be sure.

edit:
We cannot add more cars, because GP4 only provide codes and tables that handles max 22 cars. However, we can remove the cars down to 2.

Amazing Madman

I can't believe you have done it. I am speechless.
I am happy to assist with beta testing if required.

We cannot add more cars
Then this:
Can GP4 have more than 22 carshapes
so ehh... why would you want something like that?
4 shapes for each car!? :)

Great work work btw

Simple.... arrows can be written in a perf file to be slow, puts them @ pos 21 & 22 on the grid and therefore you wont know that they're not their because the cars will still be in order!

Hey - you know there's an option for multiplayer where you can say 'player cars only', could you use that code thingy to remove cars? Presumably the game tells itself to 'get rid of ... cars'. Is it obvious i know nothing about these things? ;)

Removing the cars is one thing....what about teamart and performance and names and other slot related stuff?

well if they don't drive, you don't care about performance, now do you? :)
But i think Steve Morse has a good point, that will solve a issue...

The shapes you can also reduce to a minimum, this will decrease the WAD size.
Teamart i don't know... maybe you can paint them black (my easiest suggestion)

Just a thought about the pitbox of arrows. Nowadays it would be the last one, can't we make that the FIA pitbox which normally is at the front to measure the cars if they are legal? You can paint the pitcrew in FIA style, but since the cars won't come out they will not make a pitstop so what's the problem?

mmm i shall rephrase my question.

Is the elimination of the cars based on slots (and thus all slot related stuff is deleted or ignored too) or on presence in the race. The first would be best but also the toughest to realise i think.

I hope it shouldn't be to complicated since we have to remove only 2 cars...and, btw, in menus just put grid girls :-)

wow! so, now we can have 2003 season? That's great!

It's a shame that it isn't posible to add cars, it would be amazing if we could, then we would have 28 cars for 1994 season
