Hi

I've been having random crashes in races for a while now
I can't figure out where it's coming from
My game is stable at 60fps and CTD suddenly

Weird as it seems, I had the same exact issue this evening when I tried to play. Had 4 CTD during qualifications & race.
Same access violation at the same address.

SDI, I don't know how to manage to guess that it's related to sound, but in my case, it was. I was using GP4Sound update, I removed it and used the stock sound pack and not it's working.

I'm really puzzled: why the hell would sounds make the game crash ? Without any warning message related to sound ? It really bugs me as the default sound are quite bad imho. How could I tried to find the source of the issue ? Could it be related to GPxSound ?

I don't know what the GP4Sound update does, but apparently it does something wrong. Like a missing sound file. GPxSound only adds sounds to the game, it doesn't change the existing sounds. And it's easy to test it by disabling GPxSound.

Indeed it doesn't seem to do something wrong. I was wondering at some point if changing the sample bitrate might have an influence: some 8 bit samples are replaced by 16 bits ones with this sound update.
What really puzzles me is the randomness of the crash. It happened in various cases, with no clear link.

I will try to update the sound bank sample by sample and see if it crashes.

Unfortunately I changed my PC in the meantime and GP4 goes crazy on the new one
Game CTD every time I launch a race, and TSM doesn't want to work properly anymore by refusing to put the right .wad when I load the profiles
I think the two are related

I just installed the new version of Zaz Tool, 1.27b
It tells me
"Corrupted language file. It could be that the mod contains its own string files.
Try to find any .str files in the mod you are running and remove them from the mod."

Edit :
It seems that TSM is fixed but I always crash when I launch a race
After an hour of testing the game still crashes, even with an original track/wad/anim/graphic.cfg still when I launch a race

Last edit : Finally I redid a clean installation and I put back all my mods 1 by 1, it was long but it works

From the last dump it doesn't seem to be a random CTD, it failed to load some anim data from your barcelona2005 track. I'm not an expert in understanding GP4 dumps, but it's definitely related to the track.
