Do we know anything about what values are high or low for these 51 and 52 values.

I’m aiming to get the latest min value and latest max value for a deep breaking zone. I know it’s looks like trail and error but where do you begin!

Ok, you need to have car specific performance enabled:

[PerfManager]
Enable=1
CarSpecificPerformance=1
PatchBrakingRange=1

PatchBrakingRange should be 1 too, but this is the default.

@RHill: like I said, just begin at 10000 or 20000 and check the result. Then check -10000 or -20000 and see the difference. It's trial and error, but there's nothing I can do about that.

If I leave 0 value, Gp4 don't recognize joypad anymore.

Ok, this doesn't make sense to me.

Do I have to put these strings in my gpxset.ini file?

Yes, in gpxset.ini. The [PerfManager] section and Enable value should already be there.

I didn't intend it this way. I've fixed it for future versions, so CarSpecificPerformance doesn't need to be 1 for this to work. But I also saw that the default of CarSpecificPerformance is 1, so perhaps you've explicitly set it to 0 before?

This is my gpxset.ini:

[CommandLine]
SeasonSet=
[Misc]
DisableProgressBar=0
TeamPower=1
TeamPowerType=3
skya=skya
tarmac=tarmacmap.bmp
QuickraceLength=20
Weather=1
RainChance=50
FreePracticeCars=12
ConsecutiveCars=17
FuelLaps=4
[PerfManager]
Enable=1
Path=gpxpdata\+ performance\ACE - Season 2001\01 - (SS) Melbourne - 17600 NEW.txt
[PhysicsManager]
Enable=1
Path=gpxpdata\gp3-2000.g3p
TorquePath=gpxpdata\gp4_2001 torque.ini
[Random]
Type=0
Seed=
Session=0
[FriPrac]
UseQualMenu=1
ConsecutiveCars=
FuelLaps=
Laps=30
[FreePrac]
ConsecutiveCars=
FuelLaps=
[SatPrac]
ConsecutiveCars=
FuelLaps=
Laps=30
[SatQual]
ConsecutiveCars=
FuelLaps=
Laps=20
[Warmup]

Maybe I have to insert above the "Enable=1" string..

CarSpecificPerformance=1
PatchBrakingRange=1

Right? :)

Above or under Enable, both are fine. But I don't think it will help you, since the default values are already 1. Can you try again with log file verbosity set to High? Otherwise the relevant lines don't show up.

It's not picking up the values. Are you sure you've put them in the right performance file and you're using GPxPatch 4.50?

I see the difference in the race... ahaha
Just two questions..

1) If I set braking range minimum and maximum for the same driver with 10000 value, what happens?
2) What's the difference from 0 and 10000 values? In the case I leave 0, the game loads the default parameter?
3) Which is the default parameter?
4) If I set 10000, should I have an increase of the speed of the driver on lap? I mean more fast..
5) These values doesn't change braking range of the human player, right?

Thanks

1) He will brake late consistently.
2) Value 0 will have no effect (i.e. default behaviour). The value is added, so 0 will effectively do nothing.
3) The default is 0.
4) The driver might be a bit faster because he brakes later, but might also be slower because he overshoots corners or takes a wide line through them.
5) No, these values only affect CC's. The player won't notice anything.

Ok.

Is there a list of each default driver value of braking range minimum and maximum?

The default value of each driver is 0 for both minimum and maximum. That means only the value from the magic data is used. Even if you specify a non-zero value the magic data values will be applied. As I explained earlier, the formula looks something like: braking_range_value = grip + magic_data_value + performance_file_value.

Ok. Can't we extract and set to 0 all the values of the cars in magic data files?

Sure, you can set the value of desc51 and desc52 to 0 in the magic data. But these are needed to finetune the braking range for each track.
