i did ...with success...another question...what are the consequences if you only use the lower lod of the car?
For example car_ferrari_car1_lod_0.gp4 io all other lods as well??

Lower lods are useful for low PC spec.
When the car is close from the camera you will see more details (lod_0 and lod_1) . When the car is far from the camera or not shown ( at the other side of the track, for example), you don't need to see details (lod_3, lod_4). That's why the game uses lower lods, to not overload the PO when the car is far or not visible.

But I would like to direct your attention on these 2 points:
1- Be sure that your lower lods are real lower lods and not a copy of lod_0 otherwise, you will get a big cars.wad with unecessary lower lods and a high PO
2- Just my opinion but today most of PC spec. can handle lods_0 only and lower lods are unecessary. Your cars.wad will be lighter and the PO could be less than a cars.wad with lower lods. That's what I use today. I force the game to use lods_0 only. You can try and see the difference. The advantage is also that you won't see the switch between lod_0 and lod_1. These last year, the cars have got more and more details, so more and more faces and vertices. And it is difficult to make lower lods which preserve the details. Using lods_0 only will keep the details of the car all the time, whatever the car is close or far.

Hello Pont. Why Slimtex Still Lists _No Writing Privileges_ ? Slimtex I Have Running As Administrator....

or when I run slimtex as an administrator I do not move the Tex folder files

Thanks, i did and indeed i do not see any difference when i use only use the lower lods (Y) ...great....thanks for your advice!!

That's the tyres marks. Sometimes, it appears on some tracks (or track sectors), sometimes not. I don't know if it depends of track elevations. I don't have enough knowledges but if you don't have freezes during replays or something like that, you don't have to worry about that. And I don't know any solution to fix this because I think that tyre marks are simulated by the game engine which uses a tyre mark buffer.
But maybe someone else could explain better, like Renée or Laurent.

Has to do with the modern F1 cars being longer than the 2001 ones and sun position.

Afaik this happens if the above option in the f1graphics.cfg is set to 3. Try 2 instead, should help a bit.

Nope, the operating system mostly occupies core 0 so forcing GP4 to run on a different physical core will result in slightly better performance. When using a CPU with HT you should always chose core 2 or higher as the physical cores are 0, 2, 4, ... and the logical cores are 1, 3, 5,... 0 and 1 should then be left to the OS.

Resizing the textures was really helpful...my cars.wad file has been significantly reduced from 900 mb to 200 mb! I want to thanks you all for helping me. I'm almost finished....only looking for a nice fictional 11th team including teamart. Any suggestions?
