Alpha Motorsports Press Release

Following consultation with Eric Moinet, Alpha Motorsports can announce Daly McClure will no longer be joining the team as a test driver for Season 11. The team would like to thank Eric for his assistance in the process and wishes Daly all the best for the future.

The first test driver seat at Alpha Motorsports therefore remains vacant for the time being.

Yeah so there it is, I'm now with Ecurie Mistral next season as a test driver which is good idea. But for now, I can say FP went badly for me.

Solid result for the team, can only hope me and Chris can keep this form going :)

what the hell.. seems like I missed a lot :-o

I've honestly never seen anything like a driver signing for 2 teams since Sauber signed 3 drivers in 2015..

Well, some rumours were that Daily McClueless signed for 11 teams...

I'm a total dick. How many people can say that?
Mod work must've been fun this season, only 3 teams without any lineup changes...

Ok calm down guys. :)

Ecurie Mistral Statement
After a discussion with Ed Greenhalg we decided that Daly McClure will have to respect his contract at Mistral. I'd like to thank Ed for his kindness and understanding in what seems to be a simple misunderstanding of the GPGSL rules by our young driver.

Therefore we're happy to welcome Daly McClure as second test driver of the team.

End of statement.

This is why getting it done early works out...

I'm confident to join Ecurie Mistral and that's all.

End of statement, no jokes and let's focus back on this season.

He PM'd me for a seat after I announced our lineup with a test seat vacant but wouldn't take anything less than a race seat.

Looks like we're up for quite a revamp! New cars, new teams, a new era.

Rather good FP for us, nice to see John W. on track again! Now it's qualy time, hope to grab some points this time. We have lots of power, the thing is reliability. If we can keep the PU in one piece, we should be fine.

On a side note, is it possible to have a special helmet for the season finale only? I'm asking well in advance so that if it's too much of a problem, I don't bother making it ;)

Back in my day, we had to wait for two seasons before I got a sniff of a race seat ;)

I recall it took Connor and Adam Davies longer to get full-time drives...

Poor old confused Daly did have the offer of a test seat at DMR for S11, but.... I would not hold back a test driver from seeking a race seat, so fully encouraged him to go asking the new teams for a race drive. Now, he has ended up at a brand new team as a test driver? Nice backward step....(Y)

To be fair, asking for a race seat when all race seats are almost taken is a bit risky, and maybe your release was a bit too late on that respect.
That said he is a young driver in the league and everything is still possible in the future. As mentioned above it used to take more time to have a race seat in a past not that far.

Now back on topic, waiting for the session to start. I would be very pleased to have another win on this track, my first win there last season.

Testing doesn't necessarily bring you anywhere...
