@tamburello - If you set the AI Power Factor to around 485-500, you should get a reasonably equal top speed to the AI, depending on the setups. If you're 30kph slower then there's something wrong with your mod, maybe in the performance or physics files?

Just as a test, try any GP4 Central CSM Mod at Montreal using my Magic Data and see what results you get.

Thanks René :-)
@TomMK: OK, I will test these settings. Sometimes I go above 500 or under 485 to get real life topspeeds for each race. Until Version 4.44 it was no problem to in-decrease the md values, yet the game is using for the player car only the default value of the track while the ai got the fixed values. I'm really into realism in terms of topspeed, I have a collection from 80s-todays topseeds per track and try to adjust each race/year accordingly. ;-)

Is it theoretically possible to speed up pitstops to approximately 3 seconds or is this stuck in the game code?

I'm playing in 2012 hockenheim with 2015 physics and magic datas, and the AI cars are constantly outbraking themselves at the end of the straights...I've Never seem they do that before...can It be gpxpatch related?

No it's physics related - car weight to be exact. See this thread.

The GP4 Central Mods do not suffer this problem.

Thanks, Tom! It makes a lot of sense...so the best action would be to always change track grip, without messing around with the car's weights?

it's curious. I never heard of this problem (is weight transfer in braking or is the total weight of the car? because they are different things). after being asked by Brazilian friends about what could be, i have a different opinion ... I think that could well be the use of excessive torque (torque editor), hence imply recalculating the entire power torque curve or using a work of another author. (Y)

@jucksman - I leave the car weight at the default value ~600kg and use other values in the physics to replicate the performance of each season.

@phantaman - it's an easy experiment to prove that car weight causes this problem - set the weight to 1000kg and see what happens.

in my physics the total weight of the chassis is 702,5Kg for everyone (not including the weight of fuel). then I do not see where your assumption fits that is the weight. I think maybe you guys do not use the same tools that I use to calculate, then these problems happen.
I use a telemetry tool that does calculations automatically based on this weight since it gives the dimensions of a chassis.
the weight distribution is calculated based on the circumference of the tire, using a MS Excel spreadsheet with standard data set by FIA (46:54 ... variation of 0.5% for more or less).

and I do not have this kind of problem (example below)

@phantaman - the best place to experiment is the 1st chicane at Monza. Try adjusting the car weight in your physics and look at the difference it makes. Start with 600kg, then 700kg, and so on, hopefully you'll see the difference that jucksman and others have observed.

Interesting question Ed.
I was trying to figure out how we could move the checkered flag. First to the right hand side of the track when the pits are on the left but also move the flag position ahead several sectors.
Still not sure if it can be done but I was thinking of writing a new script in .scr format and have it applied or swapped out if you like in memory.

I think the following numbers might be timings??? If so even the tire change could speed up.

Thanks for that link - I've noticed cars struggling to pull up at Monza in the past so good to know what the cause was.

Good analysis could be something to look into!

I'm using phantaman files physics, torque v8 cap file, performance all of them and I always had that monza first chicane issue with ai,since I've changed the car weight to 600 kg like Tom suggested me everything worked fine and lap times didn't change so much compare to reality,my only proble is when ai cars spin they never recover from the spin, the car goes up to 15.000 rpm but it doesn't move,so if an ai car spins in my gp4 they always retire, any idea on how to solve this issue please?,also I hope I've helped with the car weight problem, before start a race I always adjust power and grip value of the track with tsm though till I get to similar f1 real values

Greetings
Alessio

The pitstop time can be reduced with a hex editor, but I don't know of any tool that does it.

With the physics I´m using, I have been experiencing a lot of oversteer under hard braking (I use the keyboard). Even if I increase front bias, the rear tyres still lock up if I try to brake deeper into the corner. Is there anything I can change in gpxpatch or the physics, to make it less overseery?

Is their a posibility to have an option to be able to choose freely to start with hard tyres before entering a race instead of soft tyres?
