The broadcast starts

Nelson Piquet wins the European GP! René Arnoux from Renault gets 2nd, and Jacques Laffite from Ligier 3rd. Riccardo Patrese finished 4th from Arrows, Elio de Angelis in 5th and Jean-Pierre Jarier finished in 6th.

World Drivers' Championship Round-Up
Nelson Piquet is having a slight lead in the championship with 39 points. Alan Jones is 2nd with 26, 13 points behind the leader, with Bruno Giacomelli closing in on Jones with 25. René Arnoux has 19 points, Alain Prost is having his best rookie season in 5th with 14 points, and Carlos Reutemann is 6th with 10 points. Jean-Pierre Jabouille is 7th with 9 points. Both Jacques Laffite and Riccardo Patrese are tied with 8 points. John Watson is 10th with 6 points. Jean-Pierre Jarier and Patrick Depailler are tied with 3 points, and so is Didier Pironi and Elio de Angelis with 2 points. Mario Andretti is only with 1 point in the championship.

World Constructors' Championship Round-Up
Brabham are now leading with 39 points. Williams are closing in with 36 points. Renault and Alfa Romeo are tied with 28 points. McLaren is in 5th with 20 points, and Ligier is 6th with 10 points. Arrows 7th with 8, Lotus and Tyrrell tie with 3 points. Ferrari and Fittipaldi is facing a disappointing season.

The race went extremely interesting. Severe weather conditions zatrudniamy the actions of the pilots, but nevertheless, many come out with honour from the situation. particularly tense was the first circles of the race. Further, the pilots and struggled with the track and the reliability of the machines.
