I'm interested to see how this race goes...especially with all the boost.

No, no game crashing problems. But lately I've had game freezing problems for some reason, so it's not the first time, and the game crash was caused because I tried to alt-tab and go back again (better than a frozen screen hey). Must be the hardware getting worn out or something like that.

In my experience alt-tabbing gp4 almost always results in a ctd. For freezes I'd try using the 10km extended track length as recently suggested by René in another thread.

@Alessandro: the gpgnc race was due to md issues iirc.

as I said, not the first time I experience freezes. Happened before in Singapore, Melbourne and Sepang, when I was playing.

about alt-tabbing, that is why I normally have GP4 windowed, but the mod makes it go full screen, it also changes my keyboard controls, and race settings in race options (weather chance etc.), pretty much like a brand new game inside a game.

and yes GPGNC was md related, I remember that. I thought it was behind the scenes stuff so I didn't say it?

I also used the game windowed when I rang Sepang. You only have to change things in the f1graphics of the mod, not the one in your GP4 folder. Go to your GP4 main directory and then 'GPSAVES' --> 'Carsets' --> 'Name of the mod you're running' --> 'Data' --> 'Mod' and there you find the f1graphics that the MOD uses. Simply put a 1 to the 'Run in Window' line and you're gonna have this very mod run in window again.

yeah was too lazy to search that up even though I already did for the original game ;)

QUALIFYING - SUZUKA

Yeah, I know I am slightly late. First of all, here's the weather report

The reigning WC Gilson is the first car out.

He sets a time that is much slower than what the testers did

So does Warrington behind him

Silvestre goes even slower

..to be beaten by Copeman for the slowest driver so far

Elleker does a decent lap, but still not as god as the testers did

Pedersen gets provisional pole, just

First good lap of the session, as Ed takes provisional pole

De Bruyker is a few tenths off, good enough for second so far

Jalving way off the pace of his teammate

Kederer does a lap that is very close to pole, but not good enough.

Thomas slots into 4th, and rounds off the first group of drivers to set a lap

Here are the final standings of the first group again

Kittleson is the first out of the second group

He sets a decent lap that slots him into 5th

McCarthy goes much faster

Legge goes just a bit slower than Kittleson. The midfield is very close, so he's only in 8th

Maverick finds himself in P10

Horvath goes slowest so far

Moinet still missing the 15 extra BHP, only 12th

Rodriguet goes only good enough for P9, just ahead of Elleker

Nell doesn't show any promising pace

O'Brien on his race driver debut (right?) showed he is pretty fast, 4th place

Karlainen goes slower than his teammate, and so far that is the two TNRs second last and last

Van Smirren can't match his teammate, he slots into 14th

That is it for the second group. Everyone has set one lap now.

The current pole sitter is the first car out

He can't improve on his time, that's his day over. Can someone take his pole now?

Copeman improves, jumps up 5 spots

Warrington improves too, jumps 7 spots

Jalving jumps up very high, 14 spots!

Kederer's day is also over, he can't beat Ed for pole position.

De Bruyker improves one spot

Pedersen goes up to 4th

Gilson seems consistent on his laps, but consistently slow, P15 for the reigning champ.

Elleker goes quite a bit slower than his first lap

Thomas seems like he had a nice lap, he now takes P4

Silvestre can't improve a lot on his lap, he'll start P18 at best

That's all for the first group.

Maverick is the first out of the second group

He doesn't improve in his lap, 2 tenths lost.

McCarthy goes just a bit faster than before, but still not enoguh to make him higher than P3

Kittleson had a really really poor lap

So did Horvath.

Karjalainen doesn't improve either, this means TNR will lock the last row of the grid. Very unfortunate for the team.

Moinet jumps up 11 spots, seems like he found the extra BHP

Rodriguez jumps up pretty high too.

O'Brien still doesn't have the consistency of the race drivers, as such doesn't improve on his lap

Van Smirren doesn't improve either, poor session for the Shadow driver

Nell goes into 6th place, jumping 14 spots up.

Legge however stays where he is, and that is the final lap of qualifying.

Here are the final standings again

It was a close effort for pole between 3 drivers, but Greenhalgh managed to hold his nerves and take the pole for the Japanese GP!

Now that ain't half bad at all... Less than a tenth off our first pole :-O

Great effort guys, let's see if we can push forward on race day.

So... Boost is actually working as expected, cause I didn't use one (H)
Nice result for Demon in qualifying, let's see how the race turns out.
Last season 2nd from pole, this one the other way round hopefully.

Nice that the boost has been worthwhile so far!

Not a bad result from both drivers, but without boost it will be a tough race for points!

My Grand Prix 4 Files

I'm a total dick. How many people can say that?
Hurrah! The boost worked!
8th on the grid. That's a decent start to my race driver career. Now all I need to do is have a good start, keep clear of any battles around me and focus on bringing the car home in one piece.

Shame Joseph wasn't able to go higher than 17th. It's going to be a tough race for him should he hope to end up with a points finish at the end.

Bam! Greenhalgh and MPR back on pole.

Bad result for me in qualifying :( Hopefully the car will be faster in the race, as I've got a lot of overtaking to do to get some points.

Another tough race starting so down on the grid :(

Big performance by Gareth so far, nicely done mate.

10th is pretty good for me with no boost. Hopefully we can bring some points home.

Both surprised that I'm so close to my teammate, without a boost, but also surprised and embarrassed that we're both so far down the field. I expected it for me, but not quite for Jack with team and driver boost. That's really a pity and a wasted boost for AMR. Hopefully we can shove through the field for some points.

So it can't be worst for sure... (N)
