Let's hope the boost is less effective than expected.
Qualifying was very close today.. All drivers within 1 second, and the top 15 within 0.5 second! I qualified as 11th, seems like a waste of my boost with Ed on pole.. Lets hope my race pace is better

Fantastic qualy, 5th isn't a bad spot at all, we have a clear shot at a podium or maybe even another win. The car is working sweetly so far, so we just have to stay out of trouble.

I'll see what the race brings, but I'm very pessimistic.
It will be a hard one... to get a podium place.

JAPANESE GP RACE - PART 1/3
Here we are, finally!! This is part 1, and it's time to get the racing underway. The weather is clear, so no rain will affect the drivers
The cars line up on the grid. Greenhalgh on pole, he has to beware of Kederer into turn 1
Just as I said that, Kederer does take the lead into the first corner.
McCarthy's had a terrible start, down to P5 holding off a massive train
meanwhile the two Demons are sticking with the leading pair
Greenhalgh tries a move already!
And that.. did not end well.. Greenhalgh is in the air while Kederer is in the gravel
Greenhalgh rejoins somewhere near the battle at the back
Tobi gets the worse of it and drops from 1st to last in the span of just 2 corners!
This means the Demons are now leading 1-2.
De Bryker tries a move on his teammate, but the straight just isn't long enough
Thomas meanwhile set the fastest lap.
Oh and that's Elleker off in the gravel at turn 1!
He ran wide
and hit the wall, which means he is out of the race.
De Bryker has another go, he's a lot closer this time
And he has gotten past
Thomas again sets the fastest lap
The two Demons moved up a lot since the start. O'Brien the only driver to drop positions, -1
Moinet has a look at Pedersen
And he doesn't succeed in getting by
Meanwhile Greenhalgh faces the gravel yet again
He was battling with Van Smirren
And he just ran out of road
He rejoins in 21st place, as Thomas again sets the fastest lap.
Jalving goes clean around the outside of O'Brien into the long left hander! Impressive!
And this is why. Greg has a loose wheel. A poor way to start his race driver campaign.
He is getting overtaken by everyone else, obviously.
Copeman has a look at a Snake driver into Spoon
And that was a nice late braking attempt! The pair are running side-by-side
..and we will not see the outcome of that battle, as the TV switches to O'Brien who retires.
Copeman made a bit of a mistake, but he is past the Snake. There's a big train behind.
Silvestre tried to have a look into turn 1, but he's too far.
Kederer is under pressure from Karjalainen for P18.
Seems like the German just held him off, but it's surely not who he wanted to be battling.
Kittleson is getting close to Rodriguez
Jalving has a look at Moinet
Greenhalgh finally found his form, but he is 21st now. A last to first on the cards maybe?
Kittleson has a go at Rodriguez
However the ONE blocks him off nicely into 130R
And that's a Mac running wide on the curb
he does catch the gravel
And he is stuck in there. Seems like it was Copeman.
Kittleson lost quite a bit of time to Rodriguez
Confirmation it was Copeman, who is out of the race.
Nell is keeping a nice gap to McCarthy
Kittleson tries again a move on Rodriguez
He is definetly further up the inside then before
The pair approach the chicane side-by-side!
And it's a nice move round the outside by Kittleson. He's up to 5th
Greenhalgh again sets the fastest lap
Jalving tried a move on Warrington, nothing came out of it
Horvath is under pressure by a Shadow, I think it's Van Smirren
It is indeed Van Smirren, as the pair go side-by-side into 130R
However the Hungarian keeps the place
Greenhalgh has closed up a lot on Karjalainen
Van Smirren wants a look into Spoon, but decides to back out
And that is it from part 1. No pitstops yet, we expect to see them around lap 13.
