I will have an other attempt if it's still possible.

You can submit as many times as you want. The only rule is that you must use the same driver name and number in the performance file for each submission.

The laps.log file is created (or overwritten) every time you play GP4, so when you exit the game, it will contain the laps you just drove in GP4. So if you complete a hotlap you're happy with, you need to submit it before you play GP4 again, otherwise the laps.log will be overwritten.

You can change this behaviour by selecting "Append to log" but I don't want players to do this because the log gets massive and I'm not sure the GP4 Central website can handle logs with multiple sessions yet.

I will add this explanation to the "How it works" article on the site.

I've posted a 1:24 but there's definitely a 1:23 in the Williams, I was on a better lap right after but I messed up rivazza 1.

Most of the corners of this track are tricky. Its very easy to go off the ideal line.

I made 2 mistakes in the hotlap i submited witch i think cost me 3 to 4 tenths
so a 1m21.9 - 1m22.0 was possible. But im not racing till the next event.(Y)

Hmm looks like my results page is not picking up the results after pre season 2 finished. I will try and fix it this weekend. This is why we need testing events...

Well done again Jorge, 2 wins out of 2 events so far. One more testing event before we start the season proper, it will open on Friday.

Pre season event #3 is now open. It is a 10 lap quickrace at Melbourne. Make sure you set the correct grid position, AI level and weather. Positions will be ranked according to total finishing time.

Edit: Submitted my time, I don't expect to stay top for long! I spun 4 times!

I think we might need to change the physics slightly, I think the tyres are a bit too aggressive in terms of slip angle. I'll issue an update.

I've fixed the results table and added some nice formatting so it slightly resembles the way wikipedia displays results.

Thats what generally happens in races. They submit at last hour so their "rivals"
dont know the time to beat.

Sorry, for my part I don't have the skill enough to do a full race without bumping and spinning here and there at almost every lap, so I will only run hotlaps at the moment.

I won an event!!!! (H)(H)(H) Oh wait....

OK so quickrace events are not so popular it seems! Let's just do hotlaps for the next few events.

That's pre-season testing finished, and I think we've built a pretty good system. The real thing starts this Friday. Hotlaps at Silverstone 2013 by Jorge & Davide (personally my favourite track ever for GP4, not that I'm any good at it!).

You need the new version of the 2013 Laptop Mod (v7.0) which was released today so download it this week if you want to participate. Also you must download the track from GP4 Central using the link provided during the event, even if you already have the track.

See you there!

Great :)

I like the physics, high slip angles are much more fun! One of the complaints against GP4 is that it's like train driving, having to correct the car on corner entry and exit makes it more enjoyable.

Try the latest (v7.0) mod, I changed the physics again slightly, I think it's much better now, the car is balanced but still slides around, I think it's the best version yet.

No, just point GPxTrack to the .dat. That's all there is to it.

Do not rename or modify any of the files.

Each time i try to submit any lap, i've this message:

Checking: No practise session found in log file.
Info: No quickrace session was found in log file.

Looks like you solved it.

Guys I'm going to stop using this thread and start using the GP4 Central thread to discuss the championship. Head over there to continue this.
