For once I agree with Greg. Maybe for next season we could get a new Car of Shame... maybe even with sponsors of shame! Just sayin' ;-)

Nope.

Old car of shame is good because it shames you as you are driving in an older car compared to others. Like the "backup" cars of Top Gear Specials ;)

Or the Super Aguri team... ;)

The car of shame is there for a reason : to shame teams who are late in submitting their liveries, either by missing the deadline or by missing it on purpose ( the TNR tradition....!! )
Either way, the CoS should look like crap, on an outdated model! Leave it just how it is....

GPGSL Test Debut - Hungary, Season 4. GPGSL Race Debut - Adelaide, Season 5.
However, when teams deliberately miss deadlines so as to run the car of shame it kind of defeats the object, wouldn't you say?

Yeah, I'm in agreement with Stu. I don't necessarily see why it's funny.

Especially considering that TNR usually have a very nice livery, who dick about with the pink monstrosity.

I say screw the car of shame and DSQ them from the race ;)

Perhaps let the teams still run the event in the car of shame, BUT award ZERO championship points to the team. Drivers could still have their points.... That might give teams a real incentive to be on time with their submissions...(Y)

Yeah... you have a fair point there guys. While I laugh about TNR's sort of annual ritual, it is true that the pink livery is there for a reason.

Stats: 139 Starts / 7 Wins / 9 Poles / 5 Fastest laps
If I remember correctly the CoS was set to avoid waiting for people not ready with their liveries and not penalize the whole series by delaying the launch of the season. Nothing more.

Sorry but I don't see your point willing to change that. It works the way it is supposed to work.

TNR wants to use it as their openner season livery and sort of ritual ? Fair enough, let's do it, why change that ?
For the other people, they have enough time to release their liveries in due time, I think. Some people have yet their livery ready for the next season (and some other for season 349), so CoS is the good "punishment" for them IMO.

+1

My GPGSL Career
The car of Shame is absolutely disgusting, but with so many people pre-season hyping up its appearance, I thought it would only be amusing to go with the flow and expectation that TNR would use it yet again (which has been an admittedly purposeful delay for several seasons already).

Adds a bit of variety, you know? Besides, its only one round!

Jenson drives it like he owns it; Lewis drives it like he stole it
I'm in agreement with Eric here. In the TNR case its pretty obviously they've purposely chosen to not send the livery in, add a penalty and I can imagine Dan would simply send the livery in earlier as he's not late in actually producing it. Its basically the same as TNR creating their own pink livery and running it in Melbourne then changing back for the rest of the season, which is perfectly possible.

And as Eric said, them running the livery doesn't slow the series down in any way, so whats the harm? ;)

I think the Car of Shame could do with a few Vagisil decals...

One Racing driver and team manager
GPGSL-3: champion in 2007/2013/2014!
GPGSL-4: testdrivers champion in Season 11!
How about some Bieber sponsorship too....

If a car of shame needs anything, it's this:
