Mid-pack for the two Demons. Come on lads, bring home a haul of points....

GPGSL Team Owner Debut - Melbourne, Season 8 - present
GPGSL Test Debut - Hungary, Season 4. GPGSL Race Debut - Adelaide, Season 5.
Third row, well pleased with that lap and session. There's clearly a bit of pace in the JHR this weekend - here's hoping for a trouble free run, for Eric to make his way through the pack and a bagful of points for us both.
Gareth was notably fast, it'll be that old MPR user bar doing the trick ;)

GPGSL Rd 11 Dutch GP – Race Day

Part 1

Hello and welcome back. We are now ready for the start of the race. We have Greenhalgh on pole, with Gilson next to him on the front row. Behind them, we have Elleker and Kederer on the second row. Who will emerge the victor at the end of this race? We’ll have the answer after 32 laps of what will surely be good racing.

Weather Report

Here we go. The cars have returned from the warmup lap. Greenhalgh on pole, Gilson is next to him. Once the 5 lights go out, it’s game on.

They are off!

Greenhalgh takes the lead into the first corner, while Elleker manages to get in front of Gilson. Meanwhile, the pack jostles for position with a few moves having been made already.

The top 8.

Scala has managed to get by Legge, leaving the Demon driver to defend his position from the cars behind.

But the VSM driver hasn’t made the move stick just yet, which gives Legge the chance to retake his position.

As Cartwright and Schieder go side by side, Elleker takes the fastest lap.

Looking backwards from Cartwright’s SCR shows that he managed to get by Schieder. Also, Nell has closed in on this battle.

As the camera focuses on Warrington, the timing shows that McCarthy has managed to get by Van Renselaar for 4th.

Onboard will Nell shows how close he is to Hayes’s Snake. Meanwhile, the timing shows that Greidanus has lost his position to Rodriguez.

It’s pretty close between Greenhalgh and Elleker in the battle for the lead. It’s Spa all over again at the current moment.

We go onboard with Legge just as he locks up his brakes slightly.

At least he is able to continue on.

Elleker again takes the fastest lap.

Maverick succeeds in getting by Greidanus.

More passing moves have been made.

The replay shows that the moves were made into the first corner.

We get a closeup view of Gilson’s new helmet as the timing shows the current top 10. It also shows that Horvath and Schieder have managed to make successful passes.

Elleker now has the race lead, and it seems that the cameras have missed how he got by Greenhalgh.

Onboard with Cartwright, as we see him get too close to the back of Legge’s Demon.

Warrington looks close enough to try for a passing move on Schieder.

But isn’t able to get by as the MAC driver succeeds in defending his position.

As we see Moinet get by Pedersen, the timing shows that Karjalainen has managed to get by Hayes.

We go onboard with Jalving as he tries his best to get closer to the back of Van Renselaar’s One.

But he also needs to watch out for what is behind him as well.

Rodriguez looks close enough to make a move.

And indeed his does. Meanwhile, Maverick has managed to get by the Shadow that was in front of him.

The timing shows that Nell has managed to get by Warrington.

Out in front, Elleker looks to have increased his lead slightly.

The back half of the top 10, all in the same shot.

Jalving has a look up the inside of Rodriguez down the main straight.

And succeeds in getting by the One into the first corner.

With 5 laps now completed, let’s look at the standings.

The gap between Gilson and McCarthy looks to have decreased, as the JHR driver has gotten closer to the back of the SCR.

Rodriguez looks to be out of shape as he defends from Maverick.

At least he manages to keep it together and stay in front of Maverick. Behind them, Scala tries for a move on Kederer but isn’t close enough just yet to make it work.

There’s a close battle going on between the Demon and TNR cars.

Further back, the Snakes and Moinet look like they are in their own battle.

There’s not much in it at the moment between the top 4.

Jalving has closed in onto the back of Van Renselaar’s One.

Oh no! There’s been contact between Jalving and Van Renselaar. Jalving gets sideways, while Van Renselaar goes off track. Meanwhile, Rodriguez and Maverick have to lock up to avoid hitting Jalving’s MPR.

Jalving is able to get facing the right way without losing track position.

As for Van Renselaar, he has to wait for everyone to go by before rejoining.

He gets going again, but is now in last place.

Mathew is going for a passing move on Hayes down the main straight.

And he makes the move work.

It’s very close between the cars at the rear of the field.

Out in front, Elleker still leads by 1.1s.

It’s time for our first break. We hope to be back very soon.

Good race so far, lots of passing! Unlucky for Van Renselaar, hope you get a bit of luck somewhere later on in the race.

I am stoked to have nabbed two places and to be hanging onto the top 3 - I was feeling pretty good about this weekend and I'm feeling even better so far!
After a not to good qualifying, we started the race strong!

The overtake was a bit bold I must say, good thing the race director lets us race to the Max!
In P5 now, need to get more to the front

Part 2

Welcome back everyone.

We come back from the break to see a battle going on down near the rear of the field.

Onboard with Moinet, and we can see one of the Snakes trying to get by Pedersen.

The Snake succeeds in getting by, and now Moinet wants his chance to get by.

Locking up the brakes isn’t going to help him. As a result, Moinet runs wide, and is passed by Van Renselaar before rejoining.

Uh-oh. There’s debris everywhere, and we have a yellow flag situation. But who caused it?

It’s Elleker, who was our race leader. His AMR is badly damaged, and that is, without a doubt, the end of his race. The question now is this, what exactly happened?

From what the replay shows, he got two wheels in the dirt, which caused him to run wide.

He managed to rejoin, but was hit from behind by Gilson, resulting in the AMR losing a wheel and spinning out into the wall, causing more damage.

And here’s the end result.

The timing confirms Elleker’s retirement.

Gilson is forced in to the pits for a new front wing.

As a result, it has dropped him out of the top 5.

There’s a 3 way battle going on for 10th between Schieder, Horvath and Nell.

As we go onboard with Horvath, we can see how close he is to Schieder’s MAC. Also, the timing shows that Moinet has managed to regain his position back off Van Renselaar.

Mathew heads the line of cars at the rear of the field. Meanwhile, the timing shows that Gilson is now in last place, as a result of having to take his unscheduled stop.

Not much in it between Mathew, Legge, Hayes and Warrington.

Gilson has a lot of ground to make up if he is to have any chance to salvage a decent result.

Here is Greenhalgh, our race leader.

McCarthy finds himself in 2nd.

With 10 laps now having been completed, let’s take a look at the current standings.

There’s a battle going on between Shadow and VSM.

We ride onboard with Scala as he chases down Kederer.

He looks close enough to make a passing move.

And the VSM driver makes the move work.

Nell has managed to get by Horvath for 11th.

Back at the rear of the field, Legge has lost a position to Warrington. But the biggest threat to this group of drivers is Gilson. He has caught right up to the back of Van Renselaar.

Van Renselaar is not going to be able to hold Gilson back for much longer.

Gilson goes up the inside of Van Renselaar down the straight.

And he makes the move into the first corner.

Further up the road, Cartwright has managed to close in onto the back of Kederer.

Not much in it between the two drivers.

Pitstop action is now underway as McCarthy, Kederer, Nell and Karjalainen all take their stop.

Nell is held up in the pits as Karjalainen goes by.

Pedersen is also in.

Pedersen rejoins in 21st.

Nell in 20th.

Karjalainen in 19th.

McCarthy rejoined in 16th after his stop.

He currently sits behind Moinet, and there is no doubt Moinet will have be told by the team to not hold McCarthy up.

Gilson is now up to 14th, and is chasing down Legge for 13th.

Break time again. We’ll try and be back soon.

Part 3

Hello and welcome back.

McCarthy looks to be getting held up behind his teammate.

Heading onto the main straight, McCarthy decides to take matters into his own hands. He has a look up the inside of Moinet, and gets by into the first corner.

Gilson managed to get by Legge, and now sets his sights on Warrington.

Scala rejoins from having taken his stop behind Kederer.

Further back in the field, it appears that Schieder had rejoined from his stop in front of Nell.

Rodriguez takes to the pits for his stop from 4th.

With the pitstops well and truly underway, now is a good time to take a look at the standings.

Hayes is in for her stop.

So too is Legge.

Rodriguez finds himself in front of Nell after rejoining the track.

Is it me, or was Scala behind Kederer not so long ago? Something doesn’t seem right, as Kederer finds himself with no one near him.

Never mind. Scala must’ve passed Kederer at some point, which the cameras had missed. Meanwhile, Greenhalgh is in for his stop.

Gilson now finds himself behind the Snake of Mathew.

But not for much longer as Mathew heads in for his stop. At the same time, Maverick is also in for his stop.

Greenhalgh rejoins the track, but he will need to watch out for Horvath’s TNR.

Seems it wasn’t much of a problem for him, as Greenhalgh has managed to stay in front of Horvath.

Moinet is now in for his stop.

McCarthy has closed in onto the back of Warrington.

Maverick finds himself in between Karjalainen and Schieder after rejoining from taking his stop.

Both Snakes have found themselves in battle once again.

The timing shows that Cartwright is in for his stop, as Gilson succeeds in getting by Horvath.

Greidanus is also in.

Cartwright rejoins in 15th.

Greidanus rejoins in 17th.

Hayes must be getting frustrated being held up by her teammate.

With most of the stops now having been made, let’s take a look at the standings. Jalving also heads in for his stop.

The MPR pitcrew finish servicing Jalving’s car, just as Gilson comes in for his stop. This holds Jalving up just for a short while.

He gets held up even more by the TNR as it comes in for a stop.

He finally gets going, and ends up rejoining in 11th. He’ll not be happy with that.

We have another yellow flag situation. What has happened this time?

This must be the reason. One of the VSM’s has hit the wall and spun. But is it Scala? Or is it Warrington?

Time for a replay. From what it shows, it was Scala. He was holding down 3rd, and was holding back Kederer.

But he ended up running slightly wide, and was lucky enough to just miss the wall.

But as he recovered, he spun on the kerb and ended up facing the wrong way. Maverick was very lucky to avoid hitting Scala’s stranded VSM.

But the same couldn’t be said for Rodriguez, who wasn’t able to avoid Scala, and was left with nowhere to go.

At least everyone else was able to get through without hitting any of the debris, or Scala’s VSM.

The confirmation of Scala’s retirement.

Maverick must be thanking his lucky stars right now.

There’s a battle taking place at the back end of the top 10.

Rodriguez comes in for a new nose.

Back to the front, and Greenhalgh’s lead is out to 8s over McCarthy.

Behind them, a battle for 3rd is taking place between Maverick and Kederer.

Nell has lost a few positions, as he now sits in front of Greidanus.

Time for another break. When we return, we’ll go to the end of this race and determine our winner. Don’t go anywhere.
