Hi Bernard!
I should have been more precise: TomMK's problem was due to the texture used for the rear_light glow effect.
He used your hi_brakeglow.tex (brakes glow) and rename it as brakeglow.tex. So, the rear_light glow texture was wrong. In game, the rear_light glow showed a transparent brakedisc light instead of a transparent red light. The texture used for the rear_light_on object and for the rear_light glow is not the same, you are right.
