Team France post qualifying statement....

We are happy with 4th place in qualifying. Our driver, Jean Girard, has said the car feels magnificent, and he plans to be late on the brakes on lap 1 going into the Adelaide hairpin, to take the lead, and bring it home from there.
A home soil victory for France, is just a matter of time. (D)

Disaster for me... Why I forgot the boost... :(

Decent place considering I totally forgot to send boost in, noticed (of course) 1 day after the deadline ... ;)

If you are racing, keep on racing and get some points!

With a penalty and no boost points - it was expected to be at the tail. All we can hope is that others have reliability issues, so that we can move to top 10 position.
Another disappointing session for us... Hopping for better in the race.

Part 1

We welcome you back to Magny Cours for race day of the French GP. Yesterday, we saw Great Britian take pole position with a brilliant lap in their first run. Can they convert pole position into a victory? Or will the victory go to another nation? The questions will surely be answered in good time. Let's head trackside, as the cars are lining up on the grid after taking their warmup lap.

Weather: Sunny, and no chance of rain.

Waiting for the lights to go out to signal the start. Great Britian on pole, with Ireland alongside, and China and France behind.

They're off! Dan Paddock in the Great Britian car gets a great start, and leads into the first corner. Meanwhile, Cheng Tung in the China car got a better start over Criostoir Taytoh in the Ireland car and slots into second place.

Diego Alvarez in the Spain car sits in 4th behind Ireland, which means he got in front of Jean Girard in the France car off the line.

Graham-Ayrton Grimaldi in the Monaco car has dropped behind Paulo Tafuro in the Italy car. It would seem Italy got a better start than Monaco off the line.

Canada trying his luck with an overtake on Netherlands, while Australia and Portugal go side by side.

Canada failed to get by Netherlands, and Portugal, having held off Australia, fancies his chance to pass and succeeds.

Mexico locks up going into the hairpin, and makes slight contact with Monaco. In the background, Emanuel Domenech in the Argentina car goes up the inside in an attempt to make a few positions.

As a result of Mexico's lockup, it bunched up the cars directly behind. Because of this, all the cars on the left side of the track were held up and lost a few places. Matthew Allington in the USA car looks up the inside of Kamikazi in the Japan car into the hairpin.

As Argentina goes up the inside of San Marino, Montenegro manages to get in front of Canada. Canada now sits in 18th, 5 places down from their grid position.

Rodrigo Vilela in the Brazil car manages to get in front of Bulgaria, pushing Bulgaria back to 22nd. Finland, who had started 17th, now sits in 20th.

USA gained 2 places at the hairpin, and sits in front of Japan and Australia, who also gained a few places at the hairpin.

Argentina, having started 20th, sits in 13th having gained the places at the hairpin.

The current top 6 cars heading through the final chicane.

Great Britian takes the fastest lap.

Only to lose it as China takes the fastest lap. In the background, Portugal looks to have gotten in front of Netherlands which the cameras had somehow missed.

Mirko Vukcevic in the Montenegro car heads the rear of the field.

Paddock leading comfortably in the Great Britian car, ahead of Tung in the China car.

Nikolov in the Bulgaria car having a disappointing race down in 22nd.

Argentina chasing Fiji.

Into lap 3, and Great Britian has again taken the fastest lap.

Netherlands heads the train of cars at the rear of the field.

Ireland sits in 3rd, 1.2 seconds behind China. Behind them, 4th through to 10th can be seen.

Mexico heads USA, Japan, Australia and Fiji at the back end of the top 10.

Having lost 2nd place at the start, Ireland chases China in the hopes of possibly gaining 2nd place back.

Great Britian are flying in this race. Another lap down, and another fastest lap.

Girard in the France car trails Spain by 0.4 seconds. They may be in 5th place currently, but the home crowd will still cheer the French team on.

The top 7 are 1 second clear of Mexico, who sit in 8th place. Behind Mexico, a queue of cars is starting to form.

The split shows 1.2 seconds, but China is still quite close to Great Britian.

Ireland has lost ground on China, and now trails by 2 seconds. If they keep losing ground, it will no doubt bunch up the cars behind.

Allington in the USA car has gotten within half a second to the back of Cremasco in the Mexico car.

Somehow missed by the cameras, Germany has gotten in front of Canada.

A great shot of the current race leader.

Spain now has Monaco behind them. They must of lost 4th at the hairpin, which the cameras have missed yet again.

It's been a quiet race for Kamikazi in the Japan car. At least they are in the top 10.

As we go onboard with China, here are the current standings.

The distance between Ireland and France. France have got a lot of ground to make if they want to challenge for the podium.

Uh-oh. A car has gone wide, and it appears to be Germany as Canada is right behind.

It is Germany, and Kederer will need to be extra careful as he rejoins the track.

Germany manages to make it back to the track, and is able to continue on.

And now has to hold off Edvardsen in the Finland car.

Riding onboard with Germany, and the split shows how much time needs to be made back.

Onboard with Portugal, and it looks like they are going to attempt a pass on San Marino heading towards the hairpin.

But they couldn't quite get there and have to sit behind.

Great Britian still holding the lead, and in the distance is Ireland and France.

Time for the first break of the session. Be sure to stay with us now.

Not so good start of the race for Team Japan. Hopefully the pitstops can make a difference.

My Grand Prix 4 Files

I'm a total dick. How many people can say that?
I guess with such an average qualifying, we aren't really expecting much and that's how its played out so far... Still a few incidents and staying out of trouble could see us grab a point or two.

Part 2

As we come back from the break, we can see that China are 1.9 seconds behind the race leader.

While Ireland looks to have lost more ground to China.

As a result, it is allowing the cars behind to slowly start catching up.

And Girard in the France car would love nothing more than to have a chance to battle for the podium.

Mexico doing a great job holding off the USA car, but USA are slowly closing in. Behind them, Japan is still holding down 10th.

Not much seperates Australia and Fiji, who sit in 11th and 12th. Argentina looms behind them in 13th.

Portugal really closing in on the back of the San Marino car.

San Marino looks to be struggling a little, as they are starting to bunch up the cars behind. At the very back of the field, Bulgaria is just entering the final chicane.

Great Britian takes yet another fastest lap, as the first round of pitstop are now underway. Italy is the first team in.

Followed by Monaco, Mexico, Japan, Argentina, Netherlands and Germany.

France slowly getting closer to the back of Ireland. They might be able to leapfrog Ireland during the pitstops.

Great Britian, still yet to take their pitstop, leads comfortably by just under 2.5 seconds over China, who is also yet to pit.

Ireland and France takes to the pits together. Who will get out in front? That answer will be decided by the pitcrews.

Fiji, Portugal and Montenegro all take their first stop.

China pits from 2nd place.

As does Spain from 3rd.

Finland takes their first stop.

Montenegro managed to leapfrog Argentina through the pitstops.

Having taken their stop, China find themselves behind Australia, and in front of San Marino.

As we focus on the race leader, we hear from race control that there is a yellow flag situation in the long right hand corner. A car has either come to a stop, or has somehow ran wide and collided with the wall. Who could it be?

It's Japan! Kamikazi has somehow collided with the wall. Time for a replay.

Kamikazi somehow locked up, and ends up running wide.

And while trying to rejoin the track, he is hit by De Boer in the Netherlands car.

As a result of the collision, Japan is sent straight into the wall and damages the car even more. And is left stranded on the edge of the track.

Netherlands is left stranded as well. As a result, both Japan and Netherlands are out of this race.

Just prior to the incident between Japan and Netherlands, France and Spain were engaged in battle. France had an attempt at getting past Spain.

But couldn't quite make it, and stays behind. Italy takes a chance to close the gap and become part of the battle.

As the damaged Japan and Netherlands cars are removed from the track, Great Britian takes their first stop.

Having run in 2nd for a few laps, USA are finally forced to make their first stop.

Australia are also forced in to pit.

San Marino, Canada, Brazil and Bulgaria take their first stop.

Current Standings, as of lap 14.

Time for yet another break.

Team China

Race is going extremely well for Cheng so far. Although the way Great Britain are going, it may be impossible to mount a challenge for the lead and just stick to holding onto 2nd.

Well, we started in eighth and we are still in eighth, the only two good things are that USA are no longer behind us xD and we managed to pass Monaco

Team Japan says sorry to Team Netherlands for a kamikaze move by Kamikaze. ;)

What an awful season is this season turning out. :-(

Part 3

We come back from the break to see that we have yet another yellow flag situation.

And here is the reason why we have a yellow flag. It looks like Mexico has collided with another car, but from this shot it is hard to see who it was.

From this shot, it is clear as day that it was USA that Mexico had hit. But how did it all happen?

It all started when USA ran wide in the same spot that Germany ran wide earlier. Mexico can be seen in the distance.

And contact was made as USA was returning to the track, resulting in the USA car being sent into the barrier and retirement.

And Mexico retiring from the race.

As the damaged USA and Mexico cars are removed, Great Britian heads through the final chicane, with China still chasing.

Australia now sit in the top 10, as a result of the recent retirements.

Here are the current standings after the recent retirements.

Brazil haven't really been having a good race. They are chasing down Germany, and have quite a large gap to make up.

Bulgaria passes the accident zone, as race conditions finally go back to green.

Ireland are still holding down third, but Spain is slowly closing in.

Copeman in the Canada car looks a little lonely out on the track.

We have a battle starting to develop between Argentina and Finland, and Portugal can only look on and strike when the chance arises.

Germany is slowing catching up to the back of this group. Could it soon be a 4 way battle?

Or even a 5 way battle? Brazil is also slowly catching up to the back of this group. Could Argentina have a slight problem with their car?

Finland are getting much closer to the back of Argentina.

Riding with Great Britian with a unique view and the split back to China is now out to 2.3 seconds.

Meanwhile, China have extended the gap between themselves and Ireland out to 8 seconds.

Back to the battle between Argentina and Finland, and Finland looks to have gotten a bit closer down the long straight to the hairpin.

Back onboard with Great Britian, as we check out the current standings.

With the focus on Ireland, we can see positions 4 to 6 behind.

San Marino has a comfortable gap over Montenegro. In the background, it looks like Finland has gotten a bit closer once again to the back of Argentina's car.

The view from the back of Ireland's car. Spain are intent on not letting Ireland get too far ahead.

Tafuro in the Italy having a great race so far. They currently hold 6th.

Fiji's race has been quite uneventful so far. Behind them is Canada, who is trying their best to make their way through the field.

It has been a great race so far for China. They are trying to catch Great Britian, and at the same time extend their gap over Ireland.

The battle between Ireland and Spain is starting to get interesting.

A great view of Girard in the France car.

Australia have got a comfortable gap over Monaco at the current moment. Fiji can be seen in the distance.

Back to the front, and Great Britain still lead with the lead now out to 2.6 seconds over China.

The battle between Ireland and Spain is getting more interesting.

The view from onboard the France car shows the distance to the battling pair.

It's been a quiet race for the Monaco team so far. They sit in 8th, with a decent gap back to 9th place Fiji.

Here is San Marino going through the final chicane.

Brazil hasn't been seen much throughout the race. It's been a disappointing day for them as they sit in 2nd last place, and well off the pace.

On lap 25, let's check out the current standings. In the background is the current race leader, and Bulgaria could soon be lapped. Here is positions 1 to 5.

No sign of 3rd placed Ireland as China continue to chase down the leader. Positions 6 to 10.

The gap between 1st and 2nd. Positions 11 to 15.

Montenegro are slowly getting closer to San Marino in pursuit of 11th. Positions 16 to 18.

Once again, it is time for another break. We'll be back as soon as possible.
