Thanks quickslik, I will eventually get round to making a full set of pitstands, textures & engineers, but thought it best to let the community make their own too for personal teams and leagues, etc, and provide examples of how I do things.
I get bored with anything repetative, which is why it took so long to get to this stage. I think the engineer & pitmonitor animations can be improved. I also plan to add more "pitlane furniture" boxes and units etc.
I'm swapping and changing between many projects at the moment, as well as other work, and many real life things are keeping me away from the PC.

@gezere Nice work on the skins dude, but you've got some colour over the chrome parts on the Caterham stand (maybe that's what you intended ;-))

Yes it is ;-) but it still needs some improvement.

my first visit here this year - and to find such beauties!
thank you for sharing your work

one problem though (I don't have 3dsmax)
importing the 3ds shape into GP4Builder I get a very biiig pitstand with the parts out of alignment
I tried a conversion with ZModeler without luck
could you please upload a gp4 file with the properly sized and aligned shape

thank you

Sure here's the gp4, it includes a plane that carries the engineers animation. (I made it zmodeller compliant ) I've added it to the main package too.

Lol Richard we did the same....
Find below the File for Zmodeler and scaled at GP4 scale
Hope it will push some of you to texture some of them. At this date, RedBull, Toro Rosso, Ferrari, Caterham and Lotus are on my hard disk :-)

EDIT: Richard. It's what I get with your gp4 files in Zmodeler....

I hear you, I made the template as easy as possible to edit. I was hoping a full skin set would be released...dissapointing.
Thanks for your efforts so far tho'.

Weird there's obviously some pivot issue...you got that with the gp4 I just posted ? I exported to make Zmodeler compliant.
I don't use zmodeler so can't help.

Yes. but this kind of issue occurs since the first file I got but as it was before the release I thought this issue was fixed in your official pack.
Anyway it's not really a matter for somebody who is used with Zmod but....
Hoppefully the link I posted above will help :-)

Ok thanks for the feedback. I have Zmodeler so I'lll take a look at it. I do remember there's some function for mass editing of pivot points, but the documenation for zmodeler is bloody awful.

thanks guys for your uploads - both versions are working for me
re skins - I will have a go at it but with my skills I for sure won't reach the standard of the shape or the textures shown by gezerre ;)
and it will take a while

a thought about the transparent areas - the use of fully transparent textures can have nasty side effects in GP4 as objects with translucent textures may pop up in front of other objects - so a line of pitstands perhaps even behind translucent armored glass could be rather messy ingame

Then the track will have to be hardcore and do without the armoured glass....sort the men out from the boys. (H)

You may have a point tho' I haven't tested these in game behind fencing, or rather in front of a transparent texture.

sorry to bother you again
but I must tell you that I can't paint any skins for the stands worth sharing
some comments on getting the stand in the game I can give - perhaps they are useful to you and may explain my first statement - as always the few things that are not working as expected or due to "user error" are mentioned not all the "good things" (I admire the stands btw)

I started with gezerre's z3d file (the transparent section.gp4 you posted is missing the chairs) and your templates
!! the templates must be a wet dream for those who work regularly with Photoshop !!
even I with very limited experience and using GIMP could get some working tgas together after a short time:

for the transparent part I used a black/white alpha channel and DXT5 semi-transparent file format (so the glass isn't there, for the other things it doesn't matter I think)
that's how it looks ingame

comment on shape: some parts are not aligned (roof on the right side for example - see green mark in picture)
comment on textures: the plane behind the top monitors could use more shadow imho

so - why won't I paint more
the templates are beyond the scope of my skills and also with its size and number of layers beyond the power of my 6 year old pc

sorry again

For the glass part the texture must be full transparent and being separated from the opaque textures object wise. An object containing opaque and semi/full transparent textures is giving weird effects ingame.

I'm a total dick. How many people can say that?
