gene says apparently that alonso has a wet setup. if it dont rain, assuming others have dry setups, i think fa will not score.

Hmm. While most improved on their 2nd runs (despite the greasy La Source) I'm not sure. It looks like there might be light showers around the track, but Spa being Spa, it could only hit 1 corner. There doesn't look like being much chance of any prolonged rain.

It would be a hell of a risk from a team which were the favourites entering the event... would it be worth it?

Plus, he wasn't exactly epic when the rain did fall in qualifying, and you can't change the setup between the different phases of qualifying.

I just think they messed up final qualifying, making a mistake on the 1st run and then making a meal of the faster track on the 2nd run - not helped by only having 1 set of the softs left... not sure where the others have gone mind!

I don't see Gene talking about the secret team setups.

Alonso is on a wet setup, Legard confirmed it on twitter

And in nearly related news... Pedro de la Rosa starts 22n'd after an engine change.... his 9th engine out of 8. Already?! Epic fails.

Well he has more inside info than some one sat at home in front of PC guessing

Rain just began at Spa, confirmed by Mike Gascoigne, unless forum members know more than someone at the actual track ;-)

For generic news, gossip and rumours yes..... for technical set-up information... no. Ferrari aren't going to release that to anyone.

As I said earlier, if Alonso is on a wet setup, why didn't he dominate the early sessions yesterday?

'Inside knowledge' 0, common sense 1?

I'd consider taking you on, but then again, I don't trust Ferrari not to interfere (i.e. if there is a SC, leaving Massa out so Alonso doesn't have to queue)

Not entirely sure what he could have done to avoid being driven into by Liuzzi really. He totally @#$%& up against Button, and damp or not it's all his fault, but it seems like the usual suspects get there dicks in there hands whenever Vettel gets involved in anything. I'm surprised he's not been blamed for Alonso being released into him in the pit lane too.

Anyway, back with the real world, Lewis and Webber get it right. Nico mugs Schumacher and some very clear performance differences between team mates being established.

Fantastic race!

Superb drives from Hamilton, nice work from Webber and Kubica as well.

It would have been nice to see Massa have a gamble and go for inters one lap earlier. Anyway, nice to see him have a solid race.

Gav, Its ironic how the Ferrari race turned out considering our conversation yesterday! I'll take that bet now if you want ;)

:D

He was always on the back foot after he got smashed by Rubens - I'm staggered his car was still drivable, as that was some hit it took!

Kudos to Massa for a strong race though - didn't do much, but it's usually the sort of day that he falls apart on (Interlagos 2008 excepted).

Vettel was a cock. Made a senseless error to take Button out. Over-ran the braking zone into Liuzzi and took himself out - did he just want Liuzzi to jump out of the way?

We're used to Webber having the off day when he drops away from the front, but Vettel had an absolute shocker.

Decent drives from Hamilton, Sutil, Rosberg, Schumacher and especially Kubica.
