From what I remember Jacques wasn't in good form, was making silly mistakes and not at all up to Heidfelds speed. Since he went to BAR it all went downhill with him for some reason. He's made several comebacks and none of them were really successful. Also since he was forced into retirement he hasn't driven any racecar apart from the SpeedCars IIRC. Just that one person makes a comeback, doesn't mean that all retirees should do the same. Schumacher can do it: he's been driving things all over the place, DLR has still some recent testing under the belt, but Villeneuve has done nearly nothing.

Villeneuve was a match against Heidfeld! points were 13-7 for nick because Villeneuve had some bad luck (and errors) but for example qualifying battles were 7-5 for Villeneuve and fastesr race laps were 6-6 so they were very close.

Villeneuve retired four times, Heidfeld three. Of Villeneuves retirements, two were crashes (Germany and Canada, of which Canada clearly was his own fault, I can't remember Germany), two were technical. Heidfeld has two technical retirements and one crash (his roll over in the USA, can't remember for that one either whose fault it was). So there's definately no bad luck in that for Jacques. Fact is that Heidfeld had nearly double the points of Villeneuve and in the end that's what counts a lot more than fastest laps or quali positions.

I think the 1998-2008 cars just donĀ“t fit to JV driving style... In 1998 he said something like "the new rules are pure @#$%&". Also the grooved tyres could bother him a lot, just like Damon Hill... now with slick tyres he could do a decent job

If you're a driver who's truely deserving a seat, he can adjust his driving style to the car. Also I don't think it makes much of a difference, we haven't exactly seen drivers stand out because of the return of slicks.

The tyres didnt suit him but he was still one of the best drivers right upto 2003 IMO! In 2003 he apparently slipped because of motivation rather than the false accusation of Richards wanting him to fail.

From his arrival in F1, until 2001 he remained year in year out the most wanted driver. 99, 00, and 01 were epic seasons for him, driving fantastically! Was it money the reason he stayed with BAR? No. But it did ruin his career.

words of wisdom we now know are probably as true as they get.

"Trulli was slowing down like he wanted to have a picnic" LOL

or maybe JVs motivation took a dive when he couldn't handle a boy band driver and the new team principal didn't have his lips firmly planted on JV's backside

I wouldn't mind to see him back again in Formula 1, but I think it is too late for that.

He's younger than Schumi.

As EC83 has already said, if de la Rosa can get a seat, then Jacques can too, regardless of how much or little he's slipped.

And he's entertaining (even if it's the moaning sort, it's still a good listen). I count a grand total of 1 straight-talking character in F1 right now (Webber).

Could a seat be better filled? Maybe (though I'm struggling with names). Would they be better for us? Hell no.

The Ferrari appears to have a Red Bull-inspired flat nose-cone. Front wing seems to be Brawn-like too. Nice and clean rear of the cockpit though. :)

At first I wasn't really a fan of the new white textures, but now I have to admit that it gives a nice final touch on the car.

The front and rear wings are still the same as on the late-season F60. It seems they're hiding the good stuffs... :D

They did mention they weren't letting any external photographers to the launch to hide any details, but I think we wont see the true beat until next week
