firstly, great work by Ross and his other business partners, something like this was surely their main objective when they took over (keeping the team going, securing the workers' jobs). they wouldn't have been able to match their early '09 form in '10 as they probably won't have a double-diffuser type of thing up their sleeve. winning both championships was just the icing on the cake, a very nice by-product of the takeover.
as for Jenson, Merc obviously don't rate him very highly and he doesn't figure in their long-term plans, so fair play to them for not giving in to his salary demands. they see beyond the hype and see him as the mediocre driver he really is, who got extremely lucky in the best car by a massive margin in the first part of the season, who then spectacularly fell off the ball once he didn't have that massive car advantage.
he should take the McLaren money and go there, even though i believe he will be soundly beaten by Lewis.
and Eddie Jordan is talking crap in the media today, saying McLaren are the best team to handle 2 strong drivers. see 2007 for evidence to the contrary.
mind you, without Ron Dennis' influence it might be more fair now than it was then.
RIP Jules, never to be forgotten. #KeepFightingMichael
