I'm very disappointed. My heart hopes that he will return, but my mind whispers that he won't be back. He left because the driving itself is no more the most important thing in this sport and he hates everything else. I feel sorry for this decision, but I love him because he is that simple guy still who he always was. He doesn't make compromises like most of the drivers - McLaren and Ferrari are the only top teams for him, and he doesn't want to race elsewhere. He doesn't care about the money, believe it or not. The freedom is what really matters. McLaren wanted him to be part of the PR-@#$%&, but he couldn't accept it, because he told he won't. He is a proud, upstanding, fair guy. He kept what he said.
You have to be strong to stand up and leave what you've fought for during 9 years, leave the sport what meaned life for you, millions of fans, who followed every motion of you. He left the sport what he lived for. You have to be brave to make such a decision, especially if you know that you could won races or championships still.
Best wishes Kimi Räikkönen. I enjoyed every curve, overtaking, win or defeat. Thank you that I could seen every moment of your career, I could be proud of you, I could cross my fingers for you, and I could be there and see you at 21 October, 2007 when you attained your greatest dream.
Thanks for everything Kimi!
