2010 Formula One season [Huge update on page one]

Good to see that the Campos entry will probably make it to the grid. I would have preferred Lopez instead of Chandhok as their 2nd driver though.

I think that Lotus and Virgin did a good job. They have a car running (we'll see what can Campos/Hispania racing deliver) and experienced drivers. Only time is required to mature the project. They were slow, but what can you expect.

Statement by FIA
'The USF1 Team have indicated that they will not be in a position to participate in the 2010 FIA Formula One World Championship. Having considered the various options, the FIA confirms that it is not possible for a replacement team to be entered for the Championship at this late stage.

In the coming days the FIA will announce details of a new selection process to identify candidates to fill any vacancies existing at the start of the 2011 season.'

As said in the other thread its a very level headed decision by the FIA in my opinion. They see that a tender process is required for a team selection and they cant just give them out to people that turn up for the hell of it especially at this late stage. A tender process will then take place in 2010 for the 2011 season. Hopefully this means that Lola and Prodrive may still have a chance!

what the hell is this ha. I was so happy when i heard JV was coming back and no those FIA suckas dont let Stefan GP enter but an stupid team called USF1 with two Idiots as Owner or whatever are allowed to take part but cant do it. I mean who on gods green earth make that decision. I am so pissed of that i hope the FIA burns in hell forever cause the make so dumb decisions like the Mass Damper of Renault just to make Ferrari win.So just like Fernando in 06 i dont consider Formula 1 like a sport anymore.But this is my opinion so deal with it.

I'm glad FIA didn't let Stefan GP throught... i'm not defending USF1, but Zoran Stefanovic is just another Alex Schnaider (proud owner of Midland). Stefan GP would enter F1, wouldn't get results (and with Jacques Villeneuve they really wouldn't get it) and leave the sport at the end of the year... F1 is better of with 12 teams... and should be even better if Hispania/HRT/Campos/Senna's team, whatever, don't line up in Sakhir...

Well personally I'm of the belief that the grid is not full if it does not have 26 cars, so from the spectacle point of view I'm disappointed that Stefan couldn't be allowed in, but dem the rules, well, legal procedures at any rate. If I'm bitter I could be annoyed at USF1 for not getting their act together, either in getting their bloody car ready or admitting earlier that they were hopelessly out of it - I mean, I know no one likes to admit defeat and failure, but the impression I get from the management is one of sticking heads into the sand, but, bah!

I'll certainly concede that Lotus and Virgin will seemingly just become the new Jornardi boys and there's the possibility that HRT could be a liability, and it won't look very nice, but I don't really care, the more the merrier and the richer the sport, in my mind. And yeah, 24's still good, we haven't had that many cars try and qualify for a Grand Prix since Australia 97.

i'd like a full grid to... just not with unprepared teams like HRT, Stefan GP or USF1... For me, Virgin and Lotus did a hell of a job until now...
